Samathi Retreat by the sea

Welcome to Samathí,

as we call our two homes on an oceanfront hill. What makes it unique is its serene location in nature, infinite sea view, and a small private beach

from where you can swim and snorkel.
Samathí is the Thai word for meditation. The ‘into the great wide open’ views of the azure blue ocean and sky above, the calming sounds of the water, and the jungle around make it easy to unwind and experience inner peace.
If you are looking for a silent retreat – yoga mats and meditation cushions are available – or just a relaxing holiday away from it all, Samathí could be the place for you.

Unique location
Samathí is situated on a hill at the end of a peninsula where you will hear nothing but
the sounds of nature and an occasional longtail boat passing by. It is located in the
quiet northwest of Koh Phangan, between Chaloklum, a laid-back fishermen's village
with some seafood restaurants, shops and massage parlors, and Mae Haad with its
beautiful beach. Just before you arrive at Samathí the road has a few small but steep
hills, so some moped driving skills are required. Or you could rent a car.
Comfortable house
The open-plan home offers a bedroom with sea view, king-size bed, aircon,
soundless fan, fully equipped kitchen and a spacious balcony with sofa and
hammock. The small private beach is about a two-minute walk downhill.
High speed internet
About 300 mbs download and 300 mbs upload, suitable for zoom meetings or
streaming.
Eco-friendly
The open-plan design allows natural sea breezes to flow through the house and
bedroom (with mosquito net). In the winter months the fan usually keeps the bedroom
cool enough. We harvest rainwater from the roof which is used for the bathroom and
kitchen. All wastewater (except toilet) goes directly into our organic garden where we
grow fruit trees and vegetables. Therefore, we ask our guests to use the
complimentary organic shower gel and shampoo only. Drinking water will be
provided.

House Rules
We kindly ask all guests to respect the house rules and consider the comfort of neighbors

Adherence to Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 12:00-14:00, and again from 22:00-08:00.
We kindly request that noise is kept to a minimum during these periods to maintain a peaceful environment for all neighbors.

No Smoking Inside the Villa
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the villa.




Toilet Usage Guidelines:
Please do not flush toilet paper, sanitary products, wet wipes, or any other items down the toilet, as this can cause clogs. Kindly use the bin provided for disposal. Thank you for your cooperation


Pet policy:
Pets are not allowed unless prior approval has been given by the management team.


Trash Disposal
Dispose of trash in the designated bins provided.
We will collect the trash every two days to ensure cleanliness and convenience for all guests.



Appliance Use and Energy Conservation
Use all appliances, including the iron, responsibly.
Ensure the iron is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never leave it unattended while in use. Allow it to cool completely before storing it.
Turn off lights, air conditioning, and appliances when not in use or when leaving the villa.


Parking
Parking is only allowed in the designated parking spaces. Please do not block neighbors driveways or access points.

No Third-Party Bookings
The villa may only be used by the guests listed on the reservation. Third-party bookings or subletting is strictly prohibited


Liability Waiver
Guests use the pool and all house facilities at their own risk. The house owner and management team do not accept responsibility for any injuries, accidents, or damage that may occur within the house or its premises. Additionally, the house owner and management team are not liable for any theft or damage to personal belongings during your stay


Event and Gathering Guidelines:
The hosting of parties or large gatherings is strictly prohibited within the villa a. Any events or social gatherings exceeding the agreed number of occupants must receive prior approval from the management team.
Unauthorized parties may result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of the deposit.


Reporting of Damages or Concerns: We kindly request that any damages, maintenance concerns, or issues be reported to the management team immediately to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay.
