We stayed in a Hilltop view room, beautiful room, great bathroom and bed, walk out balcony was great to have. Food was good, drink options great. Motor bike rental was easy and a must for the island. View from the lobby restaurant was excellent. Resort provided transportation to and from the pier. All the staff were friendly and very nice. I will stay here again

Lovely hotel, super friendly staff. Breakfast is the best we’ve found in Thailand. Restaurant reasonably priced and great quality. Only downside is hotel isn’t really walkable to other restaurants or shops.

Very Nice staff but hotel feels very outdated and grounds are not well maintained except for the driveway in. Also trash in the bushes at the beach. Way to expensive for what you get.

Schöner Bungalow mit traumhaften Ausblick
+ Tolle Anlage mit sehr schönen Bungalows. Wir hatten einen Bungalow direkt am Strand. Bequeme Betten und gut ausgestattet. Roller lassen sich direkt im Hotel ausleihen. SUP Boards und Kayaks sind kostenlos. - Das Frühstück ist nicht so besonders allerdings ist der Kaffee sehr gut.

Great Hotel that cares about its guests
We went to koh mak in the low season (late July 2023). Mira Montra seemed one of the few hotels still fully operational. After exploring the island, it seemed to me also one of the best and best maintained. As most other resorts, it is rather small, which is nice as staff really pay attention to their guests. We had a hilltop room, which gave a partial view of the sea and the bay (some view obstruction because of trees). The hotel is located on the beach, with direct access to the beach and the sea. Guests in "Beach front" rooms walk straight onto the beach. The room was very clean, large and comfortable. Good AC, good WIFI everywhere, hot shower all the time etc. Less than one minute walk from the hill-top room to the beach. The hotel offers free peddle boats, free kayaks, free snorkling gear, free games (board games, pingpong), free afternoon tea/coffee. free pick up and drop off at the pier. Scooters for rent at 300 THB per 24 hours. Breakfast is good, with nice (free of charge) choice of coffees and teas. Food (beyond Breakfast) in the restaurant was only so-so. The only downside (and not the hotel's fault!!!) was that I got bitten big time by sandfleas on the beach. This seems to be an overall problem in Koh Mak, but i was told also in neighboring Koh Chang and Koh Kood. I highly recommend the Mira Montra.

Et stykke af paradis
Et lille stykke paradis på jorden . Et fuldstændigt vidunderligt værelse på Bakken Hvor alt er rent,pænt, har en smuk udsigt over havet og en dejlig blød seng . Hele hotellet emmer af luksus og med enormt dygtige og service orienteret medarbejder . Det er frit at brug kajak og padlebord - desuden gratis eftermiddagskaffe/snack. Det er virkelig god stil. Hotellet sætter fokus på bæredygtighed - hvilket er prisværdigt. Vi vil uden tvivl komme igen og håber, at hotellet værner om det lille luksus sted de har fået lavet .!

Tolles Hotel das ich empfehlen würde
War ein toller Aufenthalt mit in einem Bungalow. Sehr schöne und gepflegte Anlage. Sehr schöner Strand der aber bei Ebbe sehr wenig Wasser hat. Personal war sehr aufmerksam. Preis ist eher hoch, würde aber wieder kommen.

Not worth the price paid. Stayed in a beach front villa for two nights and expected luxury. Rooms are looking tired and the toilet leaked from day one and wasn't fixed. The beach is not the best on the island and there was lots and lots of plastic surrounding the property. Nothing around the property so you have to have a bike or get a taxi everywhere. Overall I would say this property is ok, its marketed as a luxury resort but doesn't offer the luxury experience. Poor choice for breakfast and its all served cold as there are no heaters under the pans. It's a shame because we were really looking forward to our stay. I wouldn't return.

These people are thrives, avoid. Mira Montra is run by a band of thieves who will take your money when you have no way of accessing their hotel. We booked to stay for a week from 23rd to 31st October 2020. Unfortunately the Thai government withdrew their planned tourist visa scheme, and hence no foreigners were able to come to Thailand (at all). We asked for a refund as we were prevented from entering the country which the hotel is in. Mira Montra refused to refund us and threatened us with a no-show or cancellation fee. In addition they gave us only 48 hours to switch the reservation to a future travel voucher (only valid for 6 months and expiring mid-2021 so unlikely to be useable). This was an effort to invalidate the chargeback process. If we had accepted this gambit Mira Montra would keep our money without providing the service we had paid for. There is a profound dishonesty at the heart of the Mira Montra business. They are dishonest people and this moral corruption affects everything they do. Please be careful of the following individual who, in our experience, may collude with the business to try to steal from you: [name redacted pending legal action, initials SS] It appears this waywardness and lack of integrity goes right to the top in Thailand, a country which has morally lost its way.

Dear Valued Guest, We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with the hotel’s effort to find the solutions for you despite the short notice. Below is the timeline of what we have tried to do, however there was no response until after check-out date, thus not much could be done. 30th August: we received an email from you enquiring about non-cancellation policy. 31st August: the hotel informed you, via email, that in the case of lockdown we would issue you ‘a reservation voucher for the same number of room nights and same room type to be used in the same holiday season in the future. We ask that you inform us 14 days in advance if you would like to change your reservation into a ‘stay credit’ so that we can make the room available.’ Please note that at the time of writing, entry to Thailand would require 14 days of quarantine in state facilities. 2nd September: we received a booking from you for check in: 23rd October. The booking was at a room rate for non-cancellation price. 14th October: the hotel received an email from the guest requesting a free cancellation. (9 days till check-in date) 14th October: the hotel promptly informed the guest, as per the email replied on the 31st August (before the guest made the reservation), the hotel cannot offer the free cancellation, however, the hotel can offer to issue the travel voucher for you instead, valid for 8 months (despite a short notice that is less than 14 days mentioned in the replied email on 31st August). We asked that you give us a decision by 16th October (7 days until check-in date) so that the hotel could free up the room for other guests. Alternatively, we offered to issue a no-show letter for you for travel insurance purposes. Please kindly note that, with just 9 days to check-in date, this was also not enough for the quarantine period required by the government. 16th October: the hotel and Expedia did not receive any response from the guest, thus the hotel cannot change/amend the booking and so the room must be held for the guest. 23rd October: check-in date, still no response from the guest. The guest did not arrive for check-in, the room allocated for the guest is unoccupied. The hotel is required to put this room on hold as there was no response from the guest. 31st October: check-out date, still no response from the guest. 6th November: the guest informed the hotel about chargeback proceedings on room fees, AND demand a future travel voucher from the hotel. We apologize, however, we cannot fulfill your demand for this. From the above, please understand that the hotel have informed the guest of the cancellation policy prior to the booking being made. The hotel have also tried to find potential solutions despite the short notice that is shorter than is required as informed in the emails communication. However, given there was no response from the guest, the hotel was required to hold the room for the guest throughout the booking and thus the booking must remain n

A very unique property literally in the middle of the sea. Truly an experience not to be missed. The breakfast was average but the dinner food was very good. Be prepared for bugs in your room, but you get used to that pretty quick. Sand flies are definitely a problem, take precautions.

I was very impressed with the resort. The seaview room was clean and newly built. The entire resort is very chill chill. The beach is clean and with a sandy bottom. The restaurant had very good meals with good portion size. The buffet breakfast was good. I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. Fantastic resort if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time.

If you pay premium price for your stay you expect premium service , and I am afriad you at the hotel need to up your game . I think the same family run the hotel , it is quite clear the need at least 2 more staff , service is very slow everything is an effort . One day cancelled food due to a 45 min wait , plus where is the Thai smile . Breakfast need more variety without a doubt , very little choice . Plus points , nice clean accommodation , beach front , would I return !!! , Maybe ,I think I need to do more research on accommodation on the island , there are many lovely hotels I would say for a lower price and check where the hotel is , very important some are very isolated .

The property itself was beautiful. What I was disappointed in was the front desk staff. They didn’t give me the room I paid for, they downgraded us then told us the the property was fully booked. After showing her the room I booked she said ok we will take you to another room. Again it wasn’t what we paid for. I didn’t appreciate being lied to. The wait staff was also tough. We would point to pictures but didn’t get what we asked for. The bungalows are beautiful but didn’t realize Koh Mak had sand flies! The beach is beautiful at this resort but had a really low tide unlike other sides of the islands. I wouldn’t go back to this resort if I came back.

A beautiful bay beach and lovely beachfront villa.
A beautiful place with stunning bay views. Beds very comfortable, room spotless. Would have liked a separate bar, perhaps on the beach as reception, restaurant and bar are all in the same place. Everything closes at 9pm which we felt was just too early. Easy to get cheap taxis to other bars etc. Friendly staff. 2 nights here, although stunning, was enough to stay on Koh Mak.
