The beautiful River Nar also flows along the outskirts of Castle Acre and is ideal for paddling in the hot weather, especially at the ford. You can walk along one of the footpaths through the water meadows and near the ford to search for trout, while enjoying the idyllic scenery and wildlife. Thetford Forest, with High Lodge and Go Ape, is also within easy reach at just under a 30-minute drive. And those preferring two wheels to two feet will find some stunning cycle routes locally.
