We recently spent four nights in this Old Town rental. On the positive side, it was an easy walk to many Key West attractions, we enjoyed the pool, the neighborhood was quiet, and our host was quick to respond whenever a problem arose. On the negative side, there were lots of problems which arose…..To begin with, the property was advertised as having a kitchen or kitchenette. It turns out it had a microwave and fridge but no sink or dishwasher. If you scroll all the way down to the fine print, you will find an acknowledgement that a sink is lacking. But that should have been more prominently mentioned – it was an unexpected annoyance to have to wash our dishes and utensils in the bathroom. Also, there is no TV in the very dimly lit living room. What we did complain about was (1) we lost the sound on one of the TVs, and someone had to come to the property to correct this (2) On our second night, the security code didn’t work, and we could not open our door – our host responded quickly and reset it – and then it happened again the next evening! It’s not a pleasant feeling getting locked out like that (3) worst of all, on our final evening, just as we were heading for bed, two smoke detectors, for no apparent reason, went off with a ear-shattering kaboom. Again, our host was responsive and sent someone out within 30 minutes to silence the malfunctioning alarms. But still, it rather harshed our mellow, to say the least. Not recommended.
