It was nice enough but not a place we will stay again. Pretty much an example of you get what you pay for when the price for this room was half of what we have paid on other trips through Kearney at the Holiday Inn Express a few blocks away. Since it was just an overnight stop on the road, we decided to give it a try and found the pros to primarily be it was clean and the bed was comfortable. If that's enough for you, no need to read any more.
Here are our not terrible but not great cons:
- Our room turned out to have a shared wall with the breakfast counter right behind our headboard and the banging prep noise started from there before 5AM for a 6AM breakfast.
- The sink faucet was plumbed backwards. Yes, we got used to it.
-Their TV service doesn't include NBC and we were hoping to watch an NFL playoff game on that channel during our stay. When I took the remote out to the front desk to ask in disbelief what I must be doing wrong, the guy barely looked up from his phone to confirm they don't have NBC. (Like maybe I should be asking that question before booking in the future. NBC!?!)
- The breakfast selection was pretty limited even by continental breakfast standards with a small seating area.
So, maybe none of that less satisfactory stuff matters to you when you find a brand name hotel at this price but we decided it does to us and reviews of 3 stars like this help us choose better when we see them. Not terrible, not great. Maybe worth the price to you.
