Flott hotell med god service og mat!
Earl's Regent i Kandy er et stilig hotell med et lekkert yttre og et hyggelig, smilende og serviceinnstilt personale. For å komme til hotellet må en følge en snirklete og smal vei en ikke skulle tro førte til et hotell av denne klassen. Hotellet ligger flott i åssiden, men ganske avsides i forhold til Kandy by. Vi var desverre uheldige og fikk et rom (508) med meget sur lukt, som var så sterk at det grenset til "hodepinefremkallende". Dette rommet var et standard rom, og lå i det som så ut til å være en eldre del av hotellet. Da vi sa ifra om lukten ble vi straks tatt på alvor og det ble med en gang sendt folk til å se på det. De skisserte duftlys som duftlys som en mulig løsning på problemet. Dette var vi ikke helt fornøyd med, men ettersom hotellet var fullbooket var det ikke stort annet de kunne gjøre. De beklaget seg veldig og etter en samtale med diverse ledere ble alle regninger for mat og drikke under oppholdet slettet. Alt i alt er vi svært fornøyd med oppholdet og kommer gjerne igjen! - Ida og Marius.

Room tips are that Deluxe Rooms have mountain and pool view which is the best view available room category or the Super Deluxe Rooms come with the Jacuzzi.

Great value, away from the hustle
Great price at USD55 per night (very few tourists). A bit out of town, up the hill - so you'll need a vehicle. Well maintained small pool. Reasonable food options at hotel, but no other obvious food venues nearby. Acceptable espresso by Sri Lankan standards. Seemed like a section at the front of the hotel was under construction, but it was quiet & peaceful. DO NOT CONFUSE this with their second hotel (Earl Regency) which is a 5* hotel at Tennekumbura about half an hour away.

Hotel is at a quiet location bit further away from city. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is very friendly but slow to attend for queries. Very good breakfast and dinner with adequate selection of Western, Sri Lankan and Indian food. Outside dining is great. Overall nice little hotel and would definitely consider going back again.

Just ok.
Room was ok in size. Bed is not too comfortable. We are in the corner room so the Mountain View ain’t that nice. Toilet was small and no soap and toiletries dispenser. Shower water goes out from the cubicle. Mirror light was flickering. No bathrobe but they gave slippers when requested. One staff helped for the airport transfer. Thank you. Parking is always full but manageable. They will give you 1 key card even requested for 2. Breakfast buffet has good food choices and taste is ok. No hostess showing seats to guest. Overall ok but expected more great service and proactive approach.

The AC in the room wasn’t working for both nights and the engineers came 3/4 times and kept on saying wait for 30/40 minutes and it will start working and at the end they mentioned that this part of the hotel is under renovation and gave an option passed 11pm to change the room when we were nearly sleeping.

Luxury but close to the town!
Love this place! We had to do a last min hotel change due to no parking at our first hotel. This was 100x better, we got a luxury room and treat really well from start to end. The food was really good and a decent variety! Service was great and rooms very clean! Only a short distance away from the town!

Excellent views, room and restaurant.Pool was too small and bar similarly was tiny. It is a drive away from tourist attractions but this .meant we were well rested in peaceful surrounds.

Do not mistake for Earl's Regency
Firstly I wish to point out that I thought I was booking Earls Regency which is a 5* hotel My biggest mistakeThis hotel although rated 4* is not upto that standard The service was poor The room was small but comfortable There were no towels -had to ask. The food was very basic -including the Sri Lankan dishes It was also cold despite being on a food warmer Glad I was only staying one night! The good point is it is out of Kandy -near to Peradeniya Therefore can "escape" when leaving without getting caught to the Kandy traffic and one way system The views were good It was quiet

Mixed experience. Standard room disappointing with no balcony or outlook; we would have paid extra for a luxury room had we known. Inattentive staff in restaurant on first night, second night improved after we complained. Food was very good but the dinning room is tight and at times crowded and difficult to get to the buffet.

Superb hotel and excellent value for money given the standard. Lovely poor area and the staff were so friendly and attentive without being over-bearing. The room in the newest part of the hotel was first rate. The food was also excelleng. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was actually a nice 4 star, however our experience there was pretty ordinary. We had booked a room with 1 king + twin beds for a family of 4. Instead of providing us with the twin beds we only got a single bed. Repeated requests to address the issue resulted in a variety of responses - ranging from 15USD extra for an additional mattress to there being not enough room to fit another mattress. Anyway, we just gave up in the end as it was too late and crammed in for an uncomfortable sleep.
