True oceanfront condo complexes are hard to find and the only real oceanfront condos at Kona Reef are located in buildings A and D. Any others are just ocean view! Enjoy sliding open the lanai door straight to the ocean!

Relax and unwind at this truly oceanfront condo. This beautifully updated unit is located in one of the most desirable complexes in Kona! Enjoy your morning cup of Kona coffee on the lanai as you watch for dolphins and listen to the waves. There is an updated and stocked kitchen for those who like to cook or walk to many of the wonderful downtown Kona restaurants that are just a block away! The oceanfront pool is the perfect place to spend the evening or soak in the hot tub.

Relax on the lani and watch humpback whales, spinner dolphins, Ironman & triathlon events, surfers and stand up paddlers. Visit amazing art galleries, protected snorkeling and year-round farmers markets that feature a brilliant array of unique local fruits and vegetables. Observe sacred green sea turtles and brightly colored tropical fish that abound in the underwater paradise while you settle into the slower island vibe.

In the living room, the sofa has a pull-out bed perfect for couples or children. If you've had a long day enjoy the large smart tv or pop in a movie! The AC unit and many fans keep the unit cool on those hot and humid days or open the sliding door for an ocean breeze.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. A high-end refrigerator with ice dispensing in the door as well as a full range and oven gives the feeling of being at home. A dishwasher and a microwave are also part of the kitchen appliances. You can grind and brew that famous Kona coffee and enjoy the start of each day with a view of the blue Pacific Ocean.

Get a good night's sleep in the bedroom with a comfortable queen bed. There is a large closet for any extra storage you might need!
The updated bathroom has an exceptionally tiled walk-in shower and a new granite countertop. Towels are provided, as well as a supply of shampoo, soap, and anything else you need.

This is an ideal home for a stay of a few days to a month or more. We cannot wait to have you stay in our beautiful home in paradise!

You could not ask for a better location! The island is BIG and we recommend getting a rental car to fully enjoy everything the island has to offer. When you get your rental car we have plenty of unassigned parking around the unit!

We are located just a block from downtown Kona. When you're ready for a sunset Mai Tai at Don's Mai Tai Bar, it's just a five-minute walk away! Enjoy all the great waterfront restaurants without having to fight for parking!

You will also be centrally located to easily access many of the great beaches on the island with a short drive. Reach out to us any time we have detailed day trip itineraries available for you to make your exploration of the island easier! We're always available to give you ideas and recommendations on what to do on this beautiful island.

Morning Coffee and Sunset Wine ON the Water

This adorable one bedroom is ON the water… super special because it is on the lower level so you can walk right on to the grass and you are practically IN the Ocean. It’s wonderful.. it’s a 5 minute walk into town…. Washing Machine works well so you don't need to pack much. Kitchen has everything you need to cook anything you want. Safeway delivers. No need to rent a car your entire trip. We only did the last 2 days to go to the other side of the island. There is a free Bus 1 block up the street that takes you in both directions to snorkel or do whatever….The condo has LOTS of very nice snorkel Geer , boogie boards, coolers, everything you need… Wonderful!

IM World Champ Stay

My wife and I came to support friends in the IM World Champs in October. Wanted affordability, beach view and easy access to IM village and race transition. We did get what we were looking for, but there were a few hiccups with the auto door lock, figuring out some of the amenities and cleaning before we arrived. No major deal breakers, but some minor issues and the owner rep was super quick to respond. Overall it was a good stay for what we wanted!

Perfect location!

The location was perfect for shops and restaurants and centrally located for everything else we wanted to do on island. The unit was clean and well stocked with everything we could’ve needed and more! We had a problem with the air conditioning and I contacted Kelsey and Sean and they had someone there within a couple of hours to look at it. Unfortunately, the parts had to be ordered so it couldn’t be resolved right away but they bought a portable AC unit and had it set up right away! It was slightly inconvenient but they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and to make sure we had a vacation!

Literally a stone's throw from the Pacific and an easy walk to K0na

Ideally located close to numerous beautiful beaches, one just a minute's walk away and several restaurants offering everything from smoothies and melt in your mouth waffles to fish and chips and fine seaside dining. Our apartment was perfect for two. It was lovely waking in the morning for a quiet sit on the lanai as surfers and paragliders floated by, not to mention the variety of local birds walking the stone wall and nibbling at bits they found in the manicured lawn. Having a washer and dryer reduced the need to pack too much. The towels were large and soft and there were plenty of them. Having A/C was a must as we live in an northern climate. No need to rent coolers or beach gear as there is a closet completely full of such necessities. Huggo's is a must for fine dining just a short walk from the apartment. Kaya's, a 15 minute drive south offers the best breakfast/brunch...scrumptious black bean burgers, amazing pastries, many GF, real fruit smoothies, and of course good coffee.

There are so many beautiful, amazing, interesting things to see and do on Hawaii/Kona but hands down the dreamiest part is hanging at D7!! Captivating sunsets and ocean waves at your back door. The property is tucked away yet perfectly situated for walking to everything. Owners/managers are A+. A grateful guest here!

Perfect location, clean and well equipped unit

We got into the condo easily using a code provided. Also nice to be able to park very close. The kitchen was well equipped with newer everything. Very clean. Homey feeling. Easy to stay here and just enjoy the view and crashing waves outside the lanai door, nearby pool deck and quick walk to downtown Kona. Communication with hosts was friendly with immediate responses. Highly recommend!

Location, location, location

First time to Kona. Absolutely loved it. Did helicopter tour, manta ray swim and drove the entire island. Beautiful location in the world. The unit is well equipped and is clean. Can't beat the location, right on the ocean, unobstructed views. Definitely recommend it.

Relaxation on Big Island - Perfect

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sean and Kelsey's apartment in Kona - ideally located, clean and well appointed. The view from the Lanai is spectacular with an easy stroll into town for the bars and restaurants. We didn't use the pool/hot tub or BBQ area as we busied ourselves exploring the many beaches and hiking the beautiful island but everything looked in great condition. If our wandering takes us back to Big Island we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We’d stay again!

We stayed in this unit several years ago, so we were pleasantly surprised to find it very updated. The bed was super comfortable, the linens were nice, the kitchen nicely appointed. The view is stellar! We saw whales from the lanai, as well as beautiful sunsets. With its proximity to town, we were able to wander about easily. Enjoy the pool, the grilling area, and the people we encountered there. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic!

This property is right on the bottom floor, right on the ocean, and a 10 min walk to all the activities in town you want. You cannot hear road noise and it is generally peaceful. Sean was a great host and was able to accommodate a special request for us the was a game changer. One detractor was that because of Hawaii law allowing beach access, all sorts of folks wander down to the beach in front of the unit. We were asked to use our shower-just something to keep in mind. Don't hesitate to book-a gem!

We loved staying at this property! It is a nice unit and we were able to turn off the air conditioner and open the doors and listen to the waves or we would sit on the lanai and watch the waves as the tides came in and out. We were able to easily walk to downtown Kona and multiple great eating places.

Excellent Location

Excellent location, the view of the ocean is fantastic and the sunsets are incredible. We saw whales and dolphins almost every day from the Lanai. The unit is easy walking distance from the Ali'i Drive restaurants/shopping etc. The pool and hot tub are nice and clean.

Cannot beat the view!

As is obvious by the photos, the view from the lanai is why you rent this place. The view is so good many people come and stand in front to watch sunset😐 It is a little close to town for us. Had a homeless person take a nap on the lanai. But it is easy to walk to Royal Kona or Hugo’s for a cocktail. So…. The place is mostly well furnished. It’s clean but messy. Random things are stuffed everywhere including in drawers meant for guests. Tools and screws in nightstand. Random guitars parts everywhere. No organization in kitchen. Hubby had to fix dishwasher and garbage disposal. Only a few small saucepans. This has the feel of a party condo. Not a lot to cook with but plenty of plastic cups. The closet with chairs, ice chests, and umbrella is so full it’s booby trapped. Overall a positive experience but I would not stay here again.

First trip to Kona

Beautiful views and wonderful location to the shops and restaurants of Kona. What a joy to wake up and see surfers and dolphins playing. My husband even enjoyed a little fishing right outside the lanai. Sean was a pleasure to work with and is very responsive. Will definitely stay again.

There are issues

We have stayed at Kona Reef in several other ocean front unit over the last several years and have loved every unit except this one. The condo is serious need of a paint job and a general makeover.It seems like the owner doesn't really care about the property. Lights in the bedroom don't work and we were basically told "oh well". The fan on the lanai didn't work either - again "oh well". There are fantastic units at Kona Reef that we be back to stay in. Just not this one...

Kona Reef Getaway

For us, this was all about location, location, location! Being within a 10 to 15 minute walking distance of the Kailua Village and all the shops and restaurants (including the happy hours) was awesome and what we were looking for! It was also great to be able to go for a short 4km jog every day along the waterfront from one end of the Village to the other to start the day (if your in to that, although an early morning walk was just as nice). We were quite pleased to wake up the first morning to 5 - 10 surfers right out in front of the property! Great snorkeling at various nearby beaches, too. The owners also sent us a nice welcoming message before we went, which was nice, and they checked to make sure we were able to get in okay! The condo is a good size for two people. Already thinking about next year.....
