Lovely unit

The condo was very nice. A great location for visiting family up the hill, close to a very friendly grocery store. A full time resident has cleared a rock-free entrance underwater at the south side of the beach on the north side of the properties. Good swimming if you go in there. We did have very loud upstairs neighbors who had rented from another agency we- tried to resolve it with the onsite manager but failed. Our agency brought me a big box fan which muffled the noise at night. They did the right thing given the circumstances.I would suggest more cleaning supplies for these one week stays. I would have mopped and cleaned bathrooms more.I would rent here again from this local agency.

Fantastic Stay!

Plenty of space for my family of 4 - two kids, two adults. Stayed three nights. Mini split air conditioning and double beds in the second bedroom were a definite plus. Condo cleanliness was immaculate. Really enjoyed the views and amenities of the property. Grills were easy to use, checkin and checkout process were easy as well. Would stay here again!

Quiet, ground floor location, beautiful garden setting for morning coffee. Well equipped kitchen for those that enjoy cooking. Nice pool and barbecue area. Easy access to waterfront…will return!

A nice place

We had a very nice stay. The condo is spacious and the site is beautiful. The only negative point is that we slept badly because of the neighbors upstair. The condo is not soundproof and they walk very hard and let their children run late at night (sometime till 11pm).

Awesome place to stay!

Looking for a last-minute property for our family to stay at for the long weekend. Glad we found this gem. Close to fields and gym we had our basketball and football games at. Kids loved the pool and near shoreline access. We live on the island and been to many condos, this is one of our favorites. Property had everything we needed. Comes fully furnished and even provides games and supplies if you plan to go to the beach or want to play volleyball or ping pong. Awesome location. Look forward to staying here again in the future! mahalo, mahalo, mahalo!!!

Spacious and comfortable

This property was a great fit for two adult couples (late 30s) vacationing on the big island for 5 days in early May. We loved the freshly remodeled kitchen, large bedrooms/closets, ample linens of good size & quality, plenty of fans (both ceiling and portable), in-unit laundry, dedicated parking space, pool area, general location, and spaciousness of the property. A part on the dryer had popped off on our first night, but the property manager was quick to respond and had it repaired within 24 hours. The main bedroom shares a sliding wall with the living room area, so be aware of that. The guest bedroom with 2 queens was wonderfully quiet and dark for sleeping, and the AC unit was efficient in quickly cooling the room and keeping it comfortable. The lock code on the door was convenient as it did not require us to keep track of any extra keys. A supermarket just up the road was convenient. Overall, we had a really good stay and would recommend this property to others.

Trip of a lifetime

We arrived at midnight and we were worried about getting into the condo however it was super easy! When we walked in we were in awe of the place the big windows and great size bedrooms. A couple items I want to make mention of are. This condo is very walkable to the mall where there is a grocery store, shave ice, restaurants and more!! It also has some great beach chairs, umbrellas and tennis racquets and balls. The grounds are perfect!! Every night we walked down to the beach (literally 2 min) and had the most amazing sunset views. The pool was awesome and the tennis courts and ping pong table is a great addition!

Beautiful resort, unit needs some upgrades

The previous, owners Bill and Shirley were awesome to deal with. The unit has since been sold and new owners have taken over. The king bed in the main bedroom needs replacing. My husband could not see me as I was in an indentation. As previous indicated by another renter who’s husband rolled over into a valley. The furniture in the living room all needs to be replaced as the cushions sink into the bamboo frames. The kitchen needs some new cookware, cutlery and glassware. Be prepared for lots of noise from above The cleaning lady needs more time to clean between renters. The carpets are in need of cleaning. We asked for the living room furniture seat cushions to be cleaned as they were very dirty. They were going to clean the carpets but we decided to leave them rather than have them damp and inconvenience us. The lounge chairs on the patio need to be cleaned. Holiday stay

The condo was located in a beautiful property convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Although it was clean it looked tired. The sofa is not a regular so the cushions are pretty soft. The MBR mattress needs to be turned desperately. You roll into a hole and my spouse was unable to sleep with me. Towels and linens were okay. My biggest complaint was the greasy conditions of several frypans on the outside and in, the stove was wiped but not clean. Too many useless dishes. Although the kitchen is beautiful the equipment inside the cabinets was not up to par.

Felt like home with more upsides than downsides

We had 21 days in this condo and our stay was mostly great! As others have mentioned, Bill & Shirley are absolute gems. I wish every VBRO host could take a page out of their book because they set the standard on how hosts should be. The furnishings aren’t put there by some cold management company trying to make a buck… you can tell that this is a place used and loved by the owners, and staying there feels like you are sharing their home. Unfortunately, the unit above this condo experiences a constant flow of guests. Most staying between 2-4 nights, and ALL of them being various levels of “stompers” at ALL hours. You can hear every step they take. And I don’t know if the layout is so bad up there that people must move furniture multiple times a day, but there’s consistently something really loud dragging across the floor. Not kidding. Apparently, we weren’t the only ones affected by the loud drunken noise coming from the other adjacent vacation rental because we were inadvertently put in the middle of a screaming match between the units yelling at each other to be quiet. Smh. We go to bed by 9 and are up by 6 (yes, we are weird) and because we do, we got very little sleep for the majority of our stay :( that was the hardest part.. Every place has its quirks, and most of them are a result of really inconsiderate guests that don’t take care of the places they stay (i.e. dull knives, poorly maintained pans, things in the kitchen not being put away where they go and/or being put away dirty etc…) and there were those kind of quirks here. Not something you’ll really notice for a few days stay, but if you’re planning on staying more than a week, just be aware. We had enough toilet paper for the whole stay (right?!? That NEVER happens!!) and the property itself is full of fun amenities. If it weren’t for the consistent lack of sleep, we’d be planning our stays around when this place was available.

Lovely lanai in great location

We stayed at Kahaluu Bay for Thanksgiving 2021. It was a family trip with my husband and I and my adult daughter. The condo is beautifully updated and has great WiFi and a huge lanai. There is a great pool, courts and excellent parking. It does not have ocean views. One can walk to the ocean but if you are a view person this is not the right place for you. The master bedroom does not have a great deal of privacy. It opens to main living area and can be closed off by sliding screens. However, if sharing with non family or children all conversations could be heard. Worked well for us because our college age daughter had her own room and bath. We had trouble reaching the property manager about a small problem and then she called Friday morning early to ask when we would be leaving. Check out was 11 and our plane was in the afternoon. We have rented a lot of homes and never had this happen. Not the wake up call you are expecting. Overall we had a great time.

Beautiful Kona condo

Beautiful condo
