The kitchen was equipped with what we need to prepare meals. But honestly the price of food in Hawaii is pretty expensive so I donā€™t think we saved much money eating in.The property is a 15 minute walk to over a dozen food trucks, an ice cream shop, brewery and few other restaurants. If we come back to the north shore Iā€™ll just plan on dinner out.The property is across the street from local 9 hole golf course, so the walk to the beach is 5-10 minutes. But WOW, what an amazing beach. I probably only saw a dozen people at the beach. The waves on the north shore are strong, but we were able to explore the tide pools and saw lots of sea life.This was my first time staying in a rental property on Hawaii. All of my previous trips were hotels or resort condos, so when I saw the property had air conditioning, I assumed central air and not 2 portable units.Iā€™ve since looked at other listings and this appears to be the norm.I love the location because it is not crowded like WaikÄ«kÄ«, but if I come again I might spend a day or two on the south side since most tours leave from WaikÄ«kÄ«.

Booked almost 6 months in advance, immediately after booking the host reached out to tell me the location of the condo is not as it is posted. Location of condo is actually in a different bay completely different than location listed (turtle bay). Host was very pushy to get us to change our listing based of location miscommunication, but was no refundable. Also it was listed as fully stocked for shampoo/conditioner/ TP and body wash and pack n play , unfortunately That was not the case. Host communication was good about bringing things that we requested once we noticed they werenā€™t there. Host was nice, house was nice.

The location is not as advertised, it was hard to find the house, especially at night. The address provided in Vrbo did not match the address provided by host.The linens were old and rough, bathrooms not stocked with enough towels or toilet paper. The kitchen items old and not clean/organized.My family did not feel at home, two preferred to sleep on the couch. The host did respond when we where lost and did repair broken kitchen faucet same day when we reported it.The location and condition of house explains the great price for the rental, you get what you pay for.

The property didnā€™t have AC built in throughout the house but it did have portable AC units, 1 in the living room and 1 in the master bedroom. The units worked very well and the rooms without them had plenty of fans in them for our use. Laundry was super convenient to do, as the washer/dryer was just located behind the house in a separate room. The space was clean, comfortable, and VERY reasonably priced. We had a great stay, and even check out was a smooth process. Our only difficulties were that the listing address in VRBO took us to Turtle Bay resort while the listing address shared by the host was in Kahuku. This left us quite confused, and I reached out to the host promptly when I realized I had the wrong address. She answered via phone very quickly, however, was not as communicative over messaging. And while I realized afterwards that I had made the mistake since the host had given me the correct address from the start, I felt she was still a bit rude to me over this ordeal.

We loved our stay at this 3 bedroom property in Kahuku! The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes, just around the bend of the golf course. The house was pleasant. Easy check-in, plenty of towels, nice big couch for the family, and the amenities matched up to the description. The host was kind and responded very fast.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY!We were very dissatisfied with this property. The wrong address was given in the ad, stating it was in Turtle Bay and in reality was 10 minutes away. The property was very dirty and was infested with bugs. The towels and sheets seemed unclean,the bathroom shower curtain was torn and the bathroom rugs looked like they hadn't been washed for quite a while.The ad stated that there were beach chairs and snorkel gear which was inaccurate. The beach chairs were rusted and unstable. There was a beach umbrella but it was broken . The air conditioning was insufficient and failed to cool the whole house. The kitchen was gross and we did not feel comfortable preparing food there. It was advertised that the beach was walking distance from the home but the beach was not conducive for swimming, The beds were advertised as queen size but the front bedroom was a double. The beds were very uncomfortable. Again I recommend not renting this property

What we loved- a 7 min walk to the beach. It was like having our own private beach! Barely a person in sight. Family friendly for older kids (7). The yard on the property was wonderful- open grass area that was fenced in for the kids. Great sunset views. And a nice wrap around porch to relax. The inside of the property had a nice floor plan and good for family time. Wonderful large dining table. What couldā€™ve made the stay even better would be a few more amenities such as towels/ beach towels and kitchenware (additional plates and bowls). The location should be updated to kahuku (not turtle bay) which was actually better for us vs turtle bay since we were happy to be away from the crowds but we were a quick drive to turtle bay or to the PCC. We had a wonderful stay.

FRAUD/SCAM! Do NOT book this property! The location is listed as Turtle Bay Resort but the home a 10-minute drive from there. The non refundable policy means that once you realize you have been duped, you cannot get your money back.If dirty and cluttered is your vibe, this is the place for you. It looked like they were living there, forgot we were coming, and quickly packed a bag to leave. No guest book with instructions. No keys on the counter as instructed. When I messaged Vanessa that we were not comfortable staying there she responded, ā€œI was there today and it looked great.ā€ Look at the attached photos and decide if it looks great.We are trying to get VRBO to remove this fraudulent and dirty home from their website, but so far, it is still listed. We donā€™t want another family, especially one with young children or a group who is short on funds to find themselves without accommodations late at night. Nearby hotels are 500-700/night. We needed two rooms, so we drove 90 minutes back to Waikiki for one night until we found a comparable condo in Turtle Bay.We had to spend an additional 2200 for a four-night stay. The host refused our request for a refund and not surprisingly, has not responded to VRBOā€™s calls and emails. This is easy money for a scam artist. VRBO says our cleanliness complaints are ā€œminor.ā€ We will let the pictures do the talking.We have filed a formal complaint against the host with the Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection.

Perfect place for peace and quiet next to the beach. We had an awesome time at this beautiful accommodation. It was very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the beach, shops, grocery stores and restaurants. The location was perfect for us. Looking forward to renting this home again as soon as we can get back!

If you can I would stay far away from this rental. The problems continued coming everyday we stayed. We first got the wrong check in instructions and had I not asked for check in instructions I donā€™t think I would have gotten them. While the instructions got us into the house the rest of them we inaccurate such as keys and a gate fob being left for us etc. There is no ā€œhouse bookā€ so not only did we not have info on the area but we also had no instructions on check in/ out or the rules of the property. Multiple things were broken but usable upon arrival, I messaged the host about them and never got a response. The fridge door was broken, the shower handle, 2/3 fans were broken, multiple screens on the windows, and a closet door. The house was not very well cleaned as well. There were full trash bags left on the side of the house (most likely from previous guest). The carpets had dust and small pieces of trash left on them, as if they had been very lazily vacuumed. There were ants crawling on multiple walls and floors throughout the house and some dead ant trails left stuck to the walls. The window screens were covered in dust and dead bugs on the inside side and all the curtains had stains on them. We also saw two mice run through the house and found mice droppings in some of the drawers. The drawer had the owners clothes and towels in it and werenā€™t able to us the tv because it was child locked and we were not given the pin. We never received check out instructions.

We booked this unit specifically because it was listed at Kuilima Dr, in the same complex as our family. However, the host, Vanessa, gave us a completely different address miles away on South Golf Course Road. This was a blatant misrepresentation. We were traveling with young children and proximity was critical. The last-minute location change was unacceptable and disruptive.We spent over an hour on the phone with Vanessa trying to find the property. She was slurring her words, incoherent, and appeared intoxicated, making the situation even more stressful after a long day of travel. Once we arrived, the condition of the unit was appalling. The master bathroom toilet was full of human waste and did not flush, making the area reek. The sheets were clearly unwashed, towels were filthy, dishes were dirty, and the entire unit was grimy. We had to wash everything ourselves just to make it livable. We wore slippers to shower due to how unsanitary it was.I sent multiple texts and emails to Vanessa throughout our stay and received no response whatsoever. This property was not only misrepresented, it was unsafe and unhygienic. We spent our own time and money cleaning instead of relaxing. This was a clear breach of contract and an unacceptable experience.She said she was ā€œout of the country.ā€ Unacceptable. Avoid this woman and all her rentals at all costs. I have been in contact with VRBO and expect resolution soon. Iā€™ve never had an experience like this.

Nice home

Itā€™s NOT where advertised. We thought it was in Turtle Bay/Kawela Bay but itā€™s farther down the road in a neighborhood. There is no ā€œshort walkā€ to the beach. You have to walk through a golf course to get to a beach and itā€™s not within a visual distance from the home. It is close to a place where there are many food trucks and some shopping tents, which was great. The house is nice. Not very clean, and by the end of our 7 day stay there were about 50 flies in the house with no fly swatters. The portable air conditioning is wonderful. There are no washcloths so bring your own. No dressers and not many hangers in the closets. Great views of the golf course and lots of stars at night. We did enjoy our stay.

Iā€™ll start with the cons; the checkin instructions were confusing, as they were for another property, and not the one we rented. When we arrived we had difficulty with the lockbox, not from user error, but because it had something sticky on it, making it difficult to open. I was expecting a welcome book, displaying the house rules, WiFi info, important contact numbers, local recommendations, etc. but there wasnā€™t one. We were a little disappointed to see the home did not look like it was cleaned well, a good wipe down of the counters/sinks, vacuum and shark mop could fix! There were ants behind the sink in the kitchen, but after spraying some bug spray found under the sink, that eliminated that problem. The owner informed us when we arrived that the delivery of an ac unit for the master bedroom was expected, it arrived on day 2.Now for the pros; the home is beautiful and spacious. I have to speak about the cozy comfy couch! We all had a nice nap on the couch at some point during our stay! It has a large enclosed yard for young ones to play safely. There were beach items available for use (chairs, umbrella, body boards) The location is not in Turtle Bay, but nearby, in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Beach access is a short walk away. Some recommendations that would elevate this rental would be; making sure the entire home is cleaned well prior to guests arriving, upgrading the bedroom curtains, (the master bedroom window faces the street, at night, cars driving by can

Listing

Overall good location. The listing is inaccurate for the location and check out time. Directions to the beach lead through a no trespassing area, but we didn't run into issues. The house in general was dusty and looked as if it needed a cleaning and hadn't been touched in a while. There was sand in the couch, laundry in the dry, dirty cup on the balcony, and various types of stains on the walls. As well as random clothes in the outside sink. VRBO host does communicate outside of the application. No checkout instructions were given at the time of checkout. I did ask for instructions. I did get repetitive instructions on location, followed with a phone call of "I thought I made myself clear". After that I felt uncomfortable asking more questions.
