Stairs were a problem for guests with knee problems. A second railing would have been a great help. Living room furniture was very uncomfortable. Other than that we had a pleasant vacation. Charlie came right away when we called and is very pleasant. Lobsters were delicious!

What a truly awesome experience! From the moment we booked our stay and throughout our vacation, communication was excellent and Charlie & Sandy were gracious, generous, and extremely hospitable hosts, making sure our needs were met, we were comfortable, and our expectations were exceeded! Jonesport is the perfect town for a quiet getaway with plenty of opportunities for fun and adventure. This was our second time staying here and we are already making plans to return!!

We enjoyed our oceanside stay in this spacious, comfortable, and well stocked home. The view from the property was beautiful and the location was great for our kayaking excursions. Charlie and Sandra also treated us to fresh lobster! Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay; the house was perfect for our extended family, with everything we needed. We loved sitting on the porch/deck or down by the water--great views either way. Peace and quiet in abundance, but plenty of places to explore nearby as well. Charlie and Sandy were perfect hosts and responsive to questions. A highlight for one family member was joining Charlie for a long day on the lobster boat. Among the six of us, we had not one complaint and only appreciation for our hosts, the house, and the area. We plan to return!

Our hosts were wonderful. They were informative and quick to respond. Why did we need to talk? Well, see the owners have a lobster boat in the water and were bringing all 9 of us a free lobster for our dinner. The house was big and no issues of water pressure or running out of hot water for our 9 showers, and our laundry! The rooms were spacious and kitchen & deck were stocked with all the dinnerware/ cookware/ seafood tools, grill, and lobster pot we needed. They had plenty of towels and bedding too. And we appreciated the fans in the bedrooms. This rental definitely had character and evidence of this being a family home, with a few children's artwork on doors and a height chart in the doorway. The neighbors rooster can't tell time, but we enjoyed laughing about him. It was a happy home. Furniture was dated, but served its purpose. We visited the Most Eastern Point of the contiguous US, Jasper Beach, Roque Bluffs, and Acadia National Park. Interested in learning the lobster way of life, we enjoyed an outing and hands on experience on a lobster boat! Thank you Maine for your beautiful people and array of weather conditions! July 2025 vacation to remember!

Very quiet house by the sea. The owner is very friendly. He gave each person a lobster and a large box of crabs raised in the sea water. You can catch them for free. If the temperature is good, you can also barbecue on the beach.

Fantastic Experience!!!!

No words can express the fantastic experience we had here. The mission of this girl's trip was to get great lobster and did we ever! First, we 4 "girls" range in age from 69 to 84. We drove from Ohio. The house was spotless clean, stocked well with all the extras such as soap, condiments and coffee. The beds are very comfortable and so clean. The entire house is cozy and homey. Beautiful deck to enjoy, nice fire pit, chairs and picnic table right along the water. Back to our lobster mission. Charlie and his crew of 2 took the 4 of us out to catch our own lobster dinner. We are still in awe of this once in our lifetime experience. They explained all about the lobster business, from the long hours they put in to showing us how they catch them and size them. Charlie also took us sightseeing for seals which we saw a few. Charlie and his crew were so nice to us. Helped us old ladies get in and out of the boat with ease. Charlie even cooked the lobster for us since we did not know what we were doing. The lobster was absolutely delicious. No butter needed! We stayed 3 nights; I wish we had stayed longer. I can't wait to go back and take my family. If you are looking for the small-town feeling, peaceful and beautiful, this is your place. Charlie and Sandy are the best host you will ever have.

Great vacation!!

As a family of 8 it was a great place to stay for a week. We didn't know at the time that it was a working lobster business in front of us and what a time the kids had watching and learning what lobstering was all about. The home was just "homey" and so comfortable...the windows looking out at the ocean and the deck with all the windows was fantastic.....we loved every minute of it and wish we'd been able to thank Charlie and Sandy in person before we left. All in all it was fantastic and something we'll remember for a long time.

Great ocean front seafood getaway

We totally enjoyed our stay here. Charles and Sandy are very friendly and helped us in anyway they can to make our vacation pleasant. We had fresh lobsters off Charles’s dock everyday. Best lobsters we ever had. Jonesport is a quiet and cozy fishing town. Plenty hiking, etc close by. We will definitely come back!

Visit to Jonesport me

The house was spacious with a great view, comfortable and well equipped. The owners responded quickly to any inquiry and I really enjoyed talking to Charlie. We had great weather and played golf 3 times, visited Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain, Eastport,and Campobello And of course we has lobster, crabs, clams, and haddock. Definitely would stay here again.

A True Coastal Maine Experience

Charles and Sandy were such wonderful hosts! Charlie so kindly took the time to take us out on his boat and share with us his expert knowledge of the town, the area, and lobsterfishing. Sandy took so much care in making sure the house was perfectly clean before we arrived. The house was spacious yet cozy, and we loved walking out onto the dock for extra beautiful views of the ocean. The two lobsters per guest were the highlight of our trip, and so so delicious! We love to cook, so we especially appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking and baking essentials. It was easy to make dinner for our 8-person group, and we even baked a cake! We're so grateful that this Vrbo helped us discover such a beautiful part of Maine. Jonesport is not touristy, and we were excited to experience life in a small coastal town for a few days (although the grocery store is open 7 days a week!). Other highlights of our trip were a hike on Beals Island (which was just as beautiful and much less crowded than Acadia), a visit to the Sardine Museum, and a truly sandy beach only a 10 minute drive away. Thank you so much, Charlie and Sandy for welcoming us into this home!

Another great week in Jonesport

This is the third year in a row we have stayed at Charlie and Sandy's house. We obviously love it here. The house is huge. The location right on the waterfront is wonderful. Charlie and Sandy are the salt of the earth. We are already planning to come back next year.

Quiet getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Jonesport. Though we got all foggy and no sunshine during our stay, we had a great time. The location is so peaceful, give us tranquility feeling by the water. Charlie took us in boat trips, showed us how to catch lobsters and watched the seals. Him and his crew Dave and Cameron are amazing. They were very nice, friendly, and patient with all of us especially our little one. We had great lobsters as promised and they were soooo good!!! The house is ok, its all very well stocked up though it could use some updates. All communication before and during the stay was amazing. Sandy and Charlie are truly amazing people and treated us like family. You felt so welcome and any questions you have, they were very accommodating and helpful. Jonesport is a place where you want to relax and enjoy your time. Had chance to get fresh mussels and watched the production from Moosabec Mussel. Ralph was amazing. Jonesport is tight community and people were amazing.

Amazing experience!!

We arrived later than expected and the owners made sure the lights were on and things were ready for us. They maintained communication with us, took us out on the lobster boat, and showed us how to cook the lobster. Any questions we had they immediately answered. Would totally recommend!! My children loved the area too!!

Awesome Experience

I travel a lot and use VRBO often. This was one of the best VRBO experiences I’ve had. Charles is an exemplary host. The house is lovely and has absolutely gorgeous views. Will definitely come back, next time with family!

Weekend getaway for our 25th

Family visit

Thank you very much to Charlie and Sandy, the house was perfect. It provided enough room for all 6 of us. The view was amazing, we enjoyed the fire pit. Getting to watch the sunsets was so relaxing. Charlie was a great host, checking in with us, making sure we had everything we needed. So friendly and kind, the true heart of Jonesport . I will be using his rentals again for upcoming visits for sure. And highly recommend staying here

Fantastic waterfront home authentic Maine town

We had an incredible time staying at this house in Jonesport, Maine. Charlie and Sandy are incredible hosts. The house takes advantage of the beautiful bay views. The new fire pit at waters edge is a great place to spend time watching the boats, birds and clouds. The house is well equipped with anything you need in the kitchen and has a beautiful deck where you can eat and hang out. If there is rain or cold weather, you can enjoy the views from the living room and Charlie’s built in bar. The lobsters were amazing and there were also delicious crabs! As awesome as the house is, the highlight of our trip was meeting Charlie and going on an excursion on his lobster boat to a beautiful beach that can only be accessed by boat and having seafood cookout on the boat. We also really enjoyed the beautiful areas to hike nearby and the quiet beaches. We prefer less crowded, quiet places to vacation and this was exactly that! We will return! We would give it 10 stars if we could.

Wonderful stay on beautiful Moosabec Reach

This is our second visit with Sandy and Charlie. We again stayed 7 days. The house is a great old family home in which you can feel the love and see the crayon marks. It is even better than the photos. We had a family group of five adults. There was plenty of room. The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well appointed, the WiFi is fast and reliable, and there is a TV in every room. There are two convenience stores around the corner and a Hannaford's in Machias, about a half-hour away. The temperature in August was 77. The sunsets are just awesome. Every night we ran outside with our cameras to capture the moment. We ate lobsters almost every day. We had the lobster feast that came with the rental, then we made lobster rolls out of the leftovers, then we bought some lobsters wholesale from Charlie's son's catch, and finally, Charlie took us out on the lobster boat, pulled a couple of traps, and cooked the lobsters onboard. We are looking forward to visiting Charlie and Sandy next year.
