Wake up in the jungle with incredible ocean views from the pool, hot tub and every room in this luxury villa - the only house located in the famous nature reserve Miro Mountain. Enjoy this private and exclusive experience with monkeys and Toucans just outside your door while being a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Access is quick and easy to the centre of Jaco where all the shops, restaurants and bars can be found

Nestled hillside of one Jaco’s biggest attractions Villa Mariposa is a unique architectural gem. It boasts unparalleled views of the entire coast and skyline of Jaco with picturesque sunsets every night - a view is unreplicated anywhere else in the surrounding area. We are located at the foot of the mountain and our close proximity to the beach means you can hear the waves crashing every morning.

There are no neighbours (so noise is no issue) but there are plenty of visits from wildlife. The toucans are known to fly right up to the bedroom windows and there are often monkey sightings directly from the infinity pool.

It was a successful bed and breakfast for
many years and a sought after vacation rental. Now under new ownership, it now has been completely updated & renovated and has all the amenities and comforts of home. The kitchen has all brand new stainless appliances and is complemented by our custom 13ft. wood dining table which qcomfortably seats large groups. There is a fast Wi-Fi , 75 in flat screen w/ Netflix, a waterfall, pool table & brand new air conditioning units in all rooms.

The Miro Mountain hiking trail is an ecological gem. Photographers and nature lovers flock to this popular location which consists of a groomed trail that leads to abandoned ruins that have been decorated over the years with colourful art from international and local artists. On the path, it is common to encounter monkeys, toucans, macaws, frogs, iguanas and much more amazing nature.

Beautiful Home in with Incredible View

Mariposa Villa was very clean, all systems and appliances were working well, and the property manager attended to our needs very responsively. Our stay was restful and restaurants nearby were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool, hot tub and wildlife -- capuchin monkeys, iguana, birds, etc. Thank you to the host and staff for a relaxing respite!

Wonderfully relaxing

Great house! So clean. Great location. Concierge very attentive. Trail outside the front door to graffitied abandoned hotel a must. Zero complaints regarding house. Just to provide heads up to others… we experienced significant traffic from airport to house making drive a bit more than expected. With that being said… I would still make the drive to stay here again.

Wanted this to be a great place to stay

Initially thought this would be a great place to stay to experience Jaco and some older architecture. However a couple of red flags, no exterior pictures and this is located right off the highway and is a main access route for tourists to visit an abandoned building. Road is very noisy when trying to sleep. Also unfortunately this home had a horrendous smell and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. If you’re looking to book a quite enjoyable place next to the beach this is not a good option.

The pictures are not comparable to the actual. Truly unique house,room for large groups. Golf cart is a must for running around so be sure to have it included and sign the waiver/deposit before arrival. Brooks was fantastic at helping us arrange outings, answer questions! Loved that the monkeys came by 3 different times!

Coolest place ever!

This place is so cool! It is nestled on a hillside with beautiful views of the beach which is walking distance away. The decks are amazing with a pool, hot tub, chairs, grill, and hammocks. Had a great time playing in the waves on the beach. Also walked up the hill to a cool overlook area with an unfinished building that was very interesting. We only stayed two nights and wished we could stay longer.

Luxury meets nature lovers

This house is top notch. Stayed here with two other couples and were blown away! First off, Jessie and Brooks were so attentive to us. Anything we needed, they were so helpful and responded right away. The views....literally the best I've seen in Jaco, and right from the pool! Every amenity was available. The bedrooms were all amazing and there were more bathrooms than we needed. Being right on the Miro mountain trail was awesome for morning hikes. It was close to everything in Jaco and Playa Hermosa. The kitchen and dining room are beautifully designed. Everything we could think of was available. I only wished we could have stayed longer. Worth every penny!

Not in a jungle

Had issues with noise due to the proximity to the main highway. Semis use their J Breaks all day and night. Very loud. No place to hang clothes. Safes didn’t work, air conditioner issues the first night. Ran out of paper products and the housekeepers took all the dish towels so we had nothing to clean up with in the kitchen. Hired a private chef so definitely challenging. Driveway pretty narrow and steep. Lots of people walk up the driveway to the hiking trail. The owner was quite responsive but the 9 of us thought we paid too much considering the issues. FYI, rats on the landing at night and no lighting on driveway. Did enjoy the pool, view and spa.

Villa Mariposa

August 2023-We recently stayed at Jessica & Spencer's home in Jaco and had an absolutely AMAZING time! The house is built into Miro Mountain and is extremely clean, modern and up to date! We loved using the golf cart to run into town for groceries or to bring our beach stuff down to the beach. There were 12 of us staying at the home and we had plenty of space and bathrooms/showers. Jessica and Spencer were extremely responsive and helpful with arranging adventures for our large group-from zip lining and ATVing to fishing or white water rafting as well as setting up transportation to these activities. It was seamless! Thank you both for an excellent vacation! We would absolutely go back!

Amazing vacation

Our family of 12 had an awesome time at Villa Mariposa. The view is spectacular. The house was awesome. We saw monkeys and toucans around the house and on the trail right next to the house. Great surfing. Having the golf cart is a definite plus. Quick walk to the beach, convenient store, and restaurants. Puddlefish restaurant - craft brewery is right across the street. Jesse and Spencer were very attentive and quick to respond. Since we didn't rent cars, Jesse arranged our transportation and excursions (deep sea fishing & monkey island) which was greatly appreciated. We definitely recommend Villa Mariposa. Only con - excursions only accept cash.

Great Family Vacation

Villa Mariposa was close to everything. Downtown, a local bar, shopping, grocery store, the beach and more all easily reached using the golf cart. Plus just hanging out at the property was pleasurable. Sunsets were beautiful. Excursions were easy to arrange with the help of the property contacts. They were also very responsive when contacted with questions or issues. Great family vacation. We had three generations and there was something for everyone.

Amazing home in Jaco Beach

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Mariposa. We were a group of 4 couples and the home was perfect. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. The house is well equipped and the main living space was perfect. Watching the sunset each evening on the pool deck was spectacular. We also saw scarlet macaws and toucans each day from the deck. My only suggestion for the pool deck would be to include some anti-slip rugs as you step out of the pool. The use of the golf cart was very nice since the house is located up a steep hill. We were only minutes from restaurants and local grocery stores. The town is very nice but can be sketchy at night (my husband and 2 of his friends were propositioned as they went after sunset to get a bite to eat). There is so much to see and do in the area and it is so beautiful. The hosts were so easy to communicate with and provided us with anything we asked for. At our request Jessie arranged for a private chef on our last night, as well as massages for the group. The only thing I would have done differently would be to have the chef on our first night - this way we could have eaten all the yummy leftovers. I would highly recommend this house!

Great stay in Jaco

Jessie was a great property manager. She was very responsive and helped set up alot of activities we requested. If we needed something at the property such as new towels etc, she was on it. The house was on a hiking trail/mtn with a great view. 10 min walk to the beach, but 3 min drive down with the golf cart. I highly recommend the stay if you have a large group. We had a group of 9 people and it was plenty of room. AC was nice and cold

We really enjoyed our stay in this property. Highly recommended.

The property is built in mountain and have a great view of ocean. The infinity pool and jacuzzi is beyond compare. Though we had rains all day we still enjoyed the property. Close to the beach and downtown. Big rooms with big kitchen. Host. Are the best. Albert and Jessica are our main contacts and they guided us all the way along. It’s a best place to stay on Jaco, Costa Rica.

One of a kind! Pura Vida!

Me and a group of my buddies stayed here for 5 days. What a trip! From start to finish the management team, Jess and Albert did a fantastic job getting us whatever we needed. Jorge the security guard was the man. By the end of the trip we were bummed to leave. You really can’t go wrong with this property. Amazing views, perfect location to downtown and surfing but extremely private. Great little restaurant at bottom of hill too. We will definitely be back again!!
