The water heater in our house broke and we didn’t have any hot water from 9 am - 7 pm. I texted Maria the host at 10 AM telling her we didn’t have any hot water. I did not receive a response so I contacted Maria again at 12:30 telling her that water was pouring out of the garage and it was urgent that they contact us. She called me and said they would have someone replace the hot water heater at 2pm. None of us could take showers. We left the house & returned at 4pm expecting the new hot water heater to be working. It was not. We all needed to take showers to go to a family dinner at a restaurant at 5:30. They did not finish installing the hot water heater until 6 PM and the water would not be hot until 7pm. Since we could not take showers we had to miss the dinner. Maria, the host was at the house during the install & I told her we were very unhappy with the situation and we would like a discount on our stay. At 1st she said no & then she said the most she would give us 50. I did not think that was a sufficient refund for being without water for 10 hours and having to miss our family dinner because we could not take showers. The man who is working on the water heater heard our conversation and he got very angry and came towards me in an aggressive manner and said “She shouldn’t give you any back!” We are extremely unhappy with the entire experience & being without hot water for 10 hours. I think we should be refunded at least 500 for dealing with this nightmare.
