«While this stay lacks in the polished stays of a fancy resort it makes up ten-fold in charm and personality. This was the coziest most wonderful stay we've had on our trip yet and we'll definitely be back. Located a mere 4 minute walk from the train station and a 1 minute from the beach this was the low key break we needed. The stay was clean with great amenities. The foot bath and soaking tub were great ways to end each day and the locality to nearby convenience stores made grabbing a bevvie ...

«ひとり旅でお宿を利用させていただきました。選んだ理由は、リーズナブルなお値段と駅からのアクセス、そしてcozyなアパートメントだったことです。宿のオーナーさんは非常に丁寧で穏やかな方々で、滞在中のオススメのお店などをシェアしてくれました。また、宿自体もクリーンで、少々見た目的な古さはあるものの、中に入ってみると、まるで実家のような安心感があります。自炊も出来ますので、宿から近いコンビニやスーパーで食材を買ってきて調理することも可能です。海にも徒歩ですぐ向かえますので、サーフィンされる方は、波のある時期に行けば非常に穴場で楽しめると思いますし、海岸沿いをランニングしたり、などもおすすめです。ラグジュアリーなホテルとはテイストは異なりますが、少し都会から離れて、ひとりでゆっくりしたり、リフレッシュの機会にするにはとてもおすすめな滞在先だと思います。また伺います！ありがとうございました！»

«The homeowner very courteously met us at the train station and escorted us to the house. The house itself is a wonderful, nicely appointed traditional Japanese home, and quite spacious with a great kitchen and modern bathroom. It's an easy walk to the beach and to the train station, and there are plenty of restaurants in the area to choose from. Ito is only one stop away on the train, with many more restaurants, and Atami is fairly close as well. Very clean. Highly recommended. »

"We had a room with private onsen, but there are also two private onsen you can reserve easily and free. These two private onsen have indoor and outdoor options, so well worth trying. The staff were very helpful and always polite. We got picked up at the station when we arrived and dropped off when we left. There is an indoor small shop where you can get drinks and snacks if you want them. Also there some options you can choose on your dinner and breakfast. I personally really liked the barracuda for breakfast."

"Et veldig fint hotell som jeg vil anbefale alle venner og bekjente som skal reise til området. Fantastisk utsikt, veldig hyggelig og hjelpsomt personale, stort og fint rom, og veldig finte private onsen på taket (perfekt for oss med tatoveringer). Ekstra hyggelig med gratis alkohol inkludert. Det var litt få kafeer og restauranter i nærheten, men det var ikke noe problem for oss."

"Flott utsikt og godt med tilgang til både basseng og havet på hotellets område. Man leide solstolen, men det kostet bare ca 100kr for en dag. Vi hadde en nydelig balkong med utsikt over havet og en stort og rent rom. Hotellet ligger litt unna selve sentrum, men det er lett å gå dit."

"This is a very nice and well kept hotel, with friendly employees. However it is important to distinguish that whilst this the hotel is "really good" to most, it is "perfect" possibly to sligthly fewer. If we had been an adult couple looking for a relaxing japanese hotel, for a tranquil spa/onsen weekend staying in in the hotel for most of the time, it would have been perfect. For us, as a European family with youth kids, it was also good, but; - the placement with the beatiful view IS a bit of a walk from the sleepy downtown of Shimoda - the shuttle is super useful to / from the train during day time, but does not run in the evening possibly, maybe a mild direction from the hotel to eat in the hotel restaurant. Also the crew had a policy not help us make a dinner reservation in town. - the hotel restaurant was nice and the food really good for dinner, albeit a slight bit formal to our taste, and prices in the slightly exclusive direction compared to other Japanese places. - the outdoor pools were nice, but not heated (chilly water in early July). - the path down to the nearby beach was steep, and other beaches around the city are probably much nicer -as a European family with teenagers we did not make use of the Onsen - which probably is fantastic to others! So - reallly good place - and probably fantastic if you are in the right target group."
