The location and general appearance of the hotel is nice. We had a room designated for clients with dogs which I suspect impacted on our experience. Whilst the surcharge for our dog was comparatively competitive, that’s really where it ended. The area of the hotel allocated to dog owners is very much in need of refurbishment and redecoration. The walls, doors, flooring covering were generally grubby and marked. During the course of our stay (3nights), we had experience of 3 different rooms. The facilities across the three rooms differed as did the layout. The first two had negligible hot running water, hot water just trickled from the taps and there was insufficient pressure to get the hot water supply up the bath shower tubing to the shower head. The first room was incredibly small compared with the second, there was now sink plug and the vinyl flooring didn’t cover the entirety of the floor. The silicone sealant around the bathroom in need of renewal. Our 3rd and final room did have hot water and at a reasonable pressure but the flooring, especially the bathroom, was incredibly badly marked and had holes in the vinyl. Similar to the first room, it was narrow in parts making it cramped especially given there was an extra single bed in it. The general feeling was that this area was not anywhere near as well maintained as the rest of the hotel albeit we never saw the rooms elsewhere, a shame when you are charged a surcharge for having a dog.
