We were excited to visit Hawaii for the first time at a 4-star Hilton hotel in Waikiki before we departed.
When we arrived, the hotel looked outdated from exterior but looked OK inside. TV didn't work for 3 days. The soundproof was terrible. We could hear all the noises from outside from the front door and the back patio. People talking, shouting, screaming, baby crying, sirens,. garbage trucks, All sorts of noises you can think of.
Housekeeping didn't do a great job either. Lack of some amenities and didn't clean the shower room thoroughly. Hair was still in a small pile.
We chose it because the breakfast is included. We thought it would be the buffet type but it was provided by a restaurant on the first floor. Breakfast menu provide a few choices but the volume of each choice is very small. A toase with avocado spread, a french toas, a small cup of oat meals or fruits, yogurt. Each choice could barely feed a child. On 12/26/2025, we waited over 40 minutes and still didn't get our breakfast. We talked to the manager and he apologized to us and prepared the breakfast in a few minutes.
The resort fee is a scam. The partner is way too far from the hotel to use. The hotel is on the north part of Waikiki and the partner is on the south-most side of Waikiki. Guests will not go that far to get the provided items. This is just a way for the hotel to overcharge guests. A total scam.
I have to say, the front desk staff was friendly and professional. It shouldn't be a 4-star hotel
