  • If you're looking for a challenging, quick hike with gorgeous 360-degree views, head over to Koko Crater. This extinct volcano crater used to house a railroad jutting up the near vertical side of the volcano crater and was used as a bunker during WWII. Some remnants still remain today and are now used to perch upon the best lookout spots to ooo and ahh over views of Diamond Head, Moanalua Bay, and out towards Makapu'u on the Eastern Shores of Hawaii Kai. When I used to live in Hawaii Kai when I attended UH Manoa, this was my exercise five days a week, since I lived right across the street. I lovingly call this climb "The Stair Master of Death" TIP: Go early for sunrise to beat the heat, or go late for sunset when it isn't as crowded. If you go in the evening, be sure to bring a headlamp to safely make your way back down. Bring water and your camera, and be careful after heavy rain when the steps can be slippery. This hike is not for the faint of heart or those with a severe fear of heights. #lifeatexpedia

Great Location, Comfortable, Great Owner

Donna was a pleasure to work with. We were planning to cook brats and watch the Super Bowl, but there was no basic cable. (It already had all other kinds of TV.) Donna signed up and delivered a box. Above and beyond. Nearby Safeway, Costco and Walgreens made shopping easy. Great restaurants too. Our group of old college friends found a great place to chill and to get reacquainted.

Amazing stay in Oahu

We had a wonderful stay at Donna’s home! There was tons of space for our group of 10. The location was great and it was easy to explore Oahu from there. When we weren't out exploring the beautiful island everyone enjoyed the large pool especially our four teenagers. Donna was a wonderful host as well and she made great restaurant recommendations and provided anything and everything we needed.

Truly paradise

Our stay at "Paradise Promised" was exceptional! The house was clean and located in a well-kept, quiet neighborhood far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the busy cities but close enough to the many attractions we planned to see. Such a beautiful back yard too. Great place to have our morning coffee or have some fun swim time. Donna was always quick to answer any questions we had. Such a great hostess. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - highly recommend it.

Thanksgiving family vacation

12 of us, 3 generations stayed for a week we'll never forget! The house was just what we needed. Wonderful neighborhood, walking distance to malasadas and picturesque views. The pool was a great way to cool off and have fun. We grilled and got great local take-out. Perfect distance from the hustle & bustle of Honolulu and the beaches. Donna couldn’t have been more accommodating when our flight hime was pushed. We had a great time exploring Oahu and enjoying all thr house had to offer

Perfect for our group of 10

No one stopped raving about the house. We appreciated the ease of getting to morning hiking trails and evening walks the neighborhood. Hanauma Bay for snorkeling, Leonard’s Malasadas, HanaPa’a Market for poke and their fish dip, Loco Moco Drive Inn, Foodland, Uncle Clay’s House of Pure Aloha for shaved ice, and Costco were all visited during our too short trip. I asked about a blanket to use at the beach the night before we arrived, and Donna had it waiting for us. Mahalo for the hospitality!

5 STARS (would give more if I could)

Before our family of 10 even arrived at the home, we knew our stay was going to be great. Donna is a phenomenal host who responds to any and all questions or concerns promptly. She provided detailed information well in advance of our trip and she was always just a text or phone call away. This home is in a very quiet and well-kept location. The beautiful backyard with the amazing scenery and large salt water pool was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day out and about. The amenities filled all of our needs - the large kitchen, BBQ, patio furniture, beach chairs, toys and coolers .. this house has it all! The home was spacious enough that we never once felt cramped - we had the space to be together, but at the same time, there are quiet spots inside and outside to take some time for yourself as well. The location is top notch. We drove out to places like the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay & Pearl Harbor and we felt like the home was in the perfect location for us to get to these places quite easily. Close to grocery stores, shops & restaurants as well as a short walk to the bus stop if we decided to leave the cars at home. Plenty of space for parking our rental cars in the garage, driveway and on the street in front of the house as well. I would recommend this home to anyone visiting Oahu looking for a beautiful, clean & spacious home. If we could have extended our holiday and stayed even longer, we would have! Thank you Donna for everything!

Very nice stay for family vacation.

This place exceeded our expectations which were very high to begin with. Donna was wonderful to work with and very responsive! The house had 2 bedrooms with a bathroom and kitchen upstairs which gave everyone lots of space. The kitchen was fully stocked and we loved the attention to detail fir making us feel pampered. Beautiful Home

I stayed here with my aunties and uncles, cousins and my family of 4. There were 10 of us total staying at this home. It was comfortable and meet all of our needs. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Enjoyed drinking our morning coffee with the view of the pool and mountains in the background. Property manager was super responsive and easy to communicate with. Would certainly entertain staying at this property again.

Family Vacation in Paradise

Words do not do justice to this home. A piece of paradise that comes well-stocked with the basic amenities, beach towels, water shoes, coolers, etc. We did plenty of cooking for a large group and found the well-stocked home extremely useful. Although we did not have any real needs, the Owner kept in touch, and knowing the Owner is available if and when needed provided great peace of mind. We can only hope to have an opportunity to return.

Relax in Style

We had a family gathering for a graduation from University of Hawaii with the ages ranging from 23 to 73. A good time was had by all as the house had room plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The pool and nearby beaches kept everyone active at their own pace. And each bedroom had separate air conditioning controls. We were all relaxed and refreshed when we returned home.

Unbelievable House with pool

This is the perfect home away from home. We came with my entire family, including my eight month old grandson. The house had everything we needed, including multiple items for the baby. There was a full crib, a bunch of toys, a bouncy seat, and many diapers, swim toys and chairs. When my adult children wanted to go to the beach or swimming, there were plenty of beach supplies, including snorkeling gear, umbrella, water shoes— almost anything and everything you would need for the beach. The house has a lot of space and everyone felt comfortable in their own corner of the house. The backyard is absolutely beautiful with the pool overlooking distant mountains. The house was very clean and we spent a lot of time in the kitchen where there was every kind of appliance necessary. The house is in a great location, a few minute drive from Hanauma Bay, a few steps from the most beautiful beaches, and only about a 15-30 minute drive to Waikiki. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Hawai’i!

Great property

Great property and the location was excellent. Host was so easy to communicate with and was very accommodating. I was a VRBO owner and it takes a lot to get things ready for each guests and also to communicate with your guests is very important and this property checked all the boxes! We were in Hawaii celebrating my mother's 100th birthday so next time we are celebrating with our family being together in Hawaii, we will definitely stay here again! Thanks so much Donna!

Can not say enough!

If I had to imagine a perfect location and accommodation for a family vacation , this would have been it. It was like a home away from home. The kitchen was well stocked. Enough towels for everyone. Beach accessories in abundance. You name it, they had it! Close to shopping. Restaurants nearby. Highly recommend Roy’s. Beaches are close by. Neighborhood felt safe. If you had a question, a quick email, and the response time could not have been any quicker.

As Advertised

We had a great time staying at this property. It's quiet, spacious, clean, and located in a convenient part of the island (i.e., close to grocery, fuel, etc.). It is also only about 15-20 minutes from Waikiki, and Lanikai, which are too completely vibes (busy/concentrated vs. laid back, respectively), depending on your preference. Donna, our host, is a great communicator and made every attempt to make sure we had what we needed to improve our overall experience. We will likely stay here again in the future.
