With far-reaching views over the picturesque Holme Valley, this beautifully converted farm building is ideally situated for couples and small families to explore the great outdoors. The border of the Peak District National Park can be reached in 6 miles - in this spectacularly beautiful natural area you can walk, cycle, ride or even try some extreme sports. The quaint market town of Holmfirth is just 3 miles away, recognisable to TV fans as the location for the long-running classic ‘Last of the Summer Wine’, and home to a variety of places to eat and drink as well as some smart boutiques. For day trips with the little ones, try Eureka! the National Children’s Museum, 16 miles; if you’re interested in art, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is just 9.5 miles.

Inside the beautifully converted cottage you’ll find an appealingly light and bright, open-plan living area, which has huge windows and glazed doors leading out onto the deck. In this sociable space you’ll find a sleek kitchen with all you’ll need to whip up tasty meals, a glass-topped dining table with attractive pendent lighting, and a large, comfortable sofa just perfect for stretching out on with a good book or in front of the Smart TV. Throw the doors open in the summer and relish the fresh Yorkshire air and fantastic views, while in the winter you’ll want to draw the curtains and snuggle up by the traditional wood burner. Upstairs, the double bedroom enjoys yet more stunning rural views and its own en-suite shower room, while the twin room has use of a lovely family bathroom.

Head outside for drinks or supper on your private deck, set within a grassy, enclosed garden where the little ones can run and play. The neighbouring fields are likely to have sheep and horses to say hello to, and watch out for wandering chickens in the vicinity! Bring your swimming costumes, too, because during your stay you’ll have sole use of an indoor, heated swimming pool and a sauna, just a few steps from your door.
