"We have tried to call the guesthouse multiple times since our intial booking was made but they never picked up their phone. Emails were sent but never responded to. Even Hotels.com tried to reach out to them but no contact was established. Now, the guesthouse will probably respond and state that they don’t collaborate with Hotels, only with Expedia - but the funny thing is that they are in fact the same since their merger.
So, our arrival day is here. 1,5 hours prior to our check in, an email suddenly appears. The restaurant is closed and they cannot provide their guests with any kinds of food until breakfast the next day. There might be some options in the area but they are not sure.
Upon arrival, when checking in, the receptionist also stated that a baby cot should already be placed in one of the rooms, but no baby cot was found. The receptionist - not someone in the family (funny as this is supposed to be “very much a family affair, run by Ólafur Páll Vignisson and Þorbjörg Inga Þorsteinsdóttir. The owners are passionate about turning their visitors stay into great memories.”) The receptionist went and got the only baby cot they had, funny how it also was broken! somehow she managed to “fix it”.
The rooms do not look as polished as in the photos. In fact, it looks quite like a sterile, Norwegian Prison cell. It seems like most of its contents are from IKEA. Their curtains are too short for the windows, not wide enough, and not installed properly, allowing the midn"
