Hello, my stay is from July 10-14, 2025.
I am booking a hotel room through Hotels.com and selecting the option to pay on site. I usually do this when traveling with rooms/locations 2, 3, etc. I use an Amex card as my payment method. However, I see that this is not accepted by any of the hotels. Hotels.com should be aware of this and make it possible to change the payment method in a few simple steps when the hotel contacts the customer 1-2 days in advance.
I almost thought I would have to look for a new hotel or cancel my booking. This puts a slight damper on the vacation. When you are on vacation, you should not have to worry about what the next day will bring.
I have to say that the hotel staff were very accommodating and held the room for me even though they had no definite assurance that the customer would arrive or be able to pay. This was after a few messages on WhatsApp.
When I arrive at the hotel, I am greeted by the friendly staff at the reception. They explain that they have upgraded my room.I don't know if this had anything to do with the incident a few days earlier regarding payment for the room.
This was a pleasant surprise. And the room was incredibly beautiful with a large balcony and a view and a large bathroom. There were two bathrooms. I think they called it the presidential suite. This was beyond all expectations.
Well settled in, I took a trip up to the pool area. This looks very good.
