Amenities:

Interior: High-quality fireplace, satellite TV, DVD player, Bluetooth sound system, Wi-Fi, board games. Roller shutters on the first floor. Fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker, spices, and everything else you’d need in a kitchen. Bathroom with washing machine, toilet, urinal, sink, and shower. An iron, ironing board, and a clothesline are also available. The beds in the bedrooms are always freshly made and each comes with duvets and pillows. Covers and blankets are also provided for the sleeper sofa on the first floor. Heating is available as needed via the fireplace, a self-sufficient propane heating system, or electric oil heating and/or convector heaters.

Outside: There are small folding chairs on the balcony and high-quality patio furniture on the terrace. We have a large grill. You can also unwind in the hammock or rock comfortably on the swing chair. The large garden, with its expansive lawn, fruit trees, fruit bushes, and many plants, invites you to explore. The garden area is largely screened from view, allowing you to relax in privacy. We also provide bicycles as an option; 2 bicycles are always reliably available. The third one is chronically broken :) Furthermore, we have various balls, bocce, and water games—depending on the season.

There’s also much, much more! We’re always coming up with new ideas to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We’re also open to constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement. We’d love to see our guests more than just once.

The Vacation Home
Breathe in the forest air! The vacation home is located right in the heart of the Märchenwald, on Drosselbartweg. With a living area of about 85 square meters spread over two floors connected by a space-saving staircase, on a generously sized and completely fenced-in lot of approximately 1,000 square meters (with privacy screening), you’ll have all the peace and relaxation you could wish for.

The house is a so-called “roof-only” wooden structure. It is fully equipped, connected to the electricity and water networks, and could theoretically also be used for long-term rental. Smoking is prohibited INSIDE the house. Outside, it’s no problem.



The Fairy Tale Forest:
North of the main intersection in Ovelgönne lies a small lake. In the summer, it’s a popular spot for children from the surrounding villages. Supervised swimming is allowed here, and there are also a few snacks and drinks available.
North of the lake lies the so-called “Fairy Tale Forest.” It’s an area dotted with weekend homes. The Fairy Tale Forest is actually located right in the middle of the woods. Cycling and walking are the most popular activities here. Of course, you can also go for a run. A 10-minute walk away, there’s also an extensive fitness trail. A nature reserve with trails for long walks and hikes is just a few minutes’ walk away. There’s plenty of space to unwind. There’s plenty to see, and the street names—all taken from well-known fairy tales—will transport you and your loved ones back to your childhood.

The town of Ovelgönne:
On the edge of the heath, surrounded by woods and fields, the small village of “29313 Hambühren – OT Ovelgönne” has developed in an unspoiled and peaceful manner. The entire municipality is surrounded by forest. In this small suburb west of Celle, with just under 10,000 residents, you’ll find the “Märchenwald” vacation home area, which is well-known and popular both regionally and beyond. Ovelgönne is located between Celle and Hanover and is easily accessible via the B214. There are plenty of shopping options that can be quickly reached on foot or by bike. All the major discount stores, several good restaurants, and various sports facilities are also located right in town.

A personal note:
We do not rent out this vacation home for profit. It is a labor of love, and we have put a great deal of hard work, effort, and passion into the property. We regularly work on this house during periods when it’s not rented out, renovating and beautifying the entire property for you and your next visit. For example, in the summer of 2015, we installed a new roof with modern insulation.
