Rustikt og særpreget, men...
Rommet var i minste laget, og rommene virket å variere i utforming og størrelse. Badet ble oppfattet som trangt. Det var ikke aircondition, så for friskluft var det åpning av vinduet som gjaldt. Rommet hadde heller ikke kjøleskap (eller kjølt minibar), som er viktig og hotellet seriøst bør vurdere å sette inn. Til frokost manglet varmmat som egg og bacon, men vaffelsteking hadde de. God hjemmelagd eggesalat. Utover dette var hotellet gjennomført rustikt, men dette, som for eksempel harde sitteplasser, gir også minus med tanke på komforten. At det luktet råtten fisk på badet ved innsjekk, som ble påklaget (og ordnet), var også et minus. Svovellukt fra vannet oppfattes sikkert negativt for flere. Og heitapotturen deres var ikke heit i det hele tatt da vi sjekket den. Pluss for gratis parkering ved hotellet og at prisen var helt grei sammenlignet med hoteller i Reykjavik. Grei beliggenhet og et helt greit opphold, men kanskje litt overratet? Anbefaler andre å teste Viking-hotellet, om man ønsker et noe annerledes overnattingssted utenfor hovedstaden.

Hello.We are greatly sorry you didnt enjoy your stay with us.About some issues you have faced, your feedback is very important to us, in order to fix and improve problems.Indeed in Iceland we do not usually use air conditioning, because the temperatures usually dont go over 15 degrees on winter, and hardly ever we get temperatures over 20 in summer. But we do provide heaters as we are known for the low temperatures.About the mini-bar/fridge, we do have on the rooms inside the closet, if your room lacked it, we really apologize for the error. It is a good feedback, and we will recheck all our rooms for it.About breakfast, we do not provide an american breakfast with bacon and eggs, we provide breakfast with the nordic countries style. As we are trying to offer the guests a viking experience and immerssion.The smell of the waters are odd because our hot water comes from the hot springs and we are in a volcanic area, but this would be only the pipes concerning hot water, our cold water, once you let it run on the tap for some seconds is actually really nice, and Iceland is famous for the cleanest drinkable water worldwide.The other issues you addressed were already fixed, like the hot tub. We are sorry for your inconvenience. About our parking area, we own the parking not only in front of the hotel but all around the restaurant and cottages. We are sorry your experience was not as enjoyable as it was expected but we would gladly receive you again with the improvements we will make based on guests feedback.Thank you for your feedback as well, it helps us a lot to improve and grow.

Too rustic to be recommended.
This hotel is too rustic to be comfortable. Breakfast was challenging. Seating was far from comfortable and the selecion of food was down to a bare minimum. Service there was good though. Ventilation was almost non-existent. The fan in bathroom was seldom on and the staff refused to keep it on during night leaving the air quality in room bad for sleeping comfortably. The bathroom was not properly equipped and the washing basin had lots of cracks in it giving it a very unhygenic look. All in all this hotel can not be recommended.

Nice hotel with nice staff. Decent breakfast for the price. Not very close to any shopping district but easily accessible through car. There were bus stops just outside of the hotel as well but we didn't use the local transit.

Sehr authentische Unterkunft im Vikinger Style. Frühstück war völlig ok. Das Zimmer ,mit großem Doppelbett ,sehr großzügig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Absolut empfehlenswert!!

Iceland is gorgeous, but the weather can be uncooperative, so I chose Hotel Viking. I had a triple room and a side view of the water. There is a sauna, hot tub, and breakfast in the hotel and an amazing restaurant with lots of Viking artifacts ten steps away. So if the weather was terrible the entire time, you would still have an authentic Icelandic experience. Hotel Viking was even better than I expected in so many ways. Great staff as well, very accommodating!

The room we had (10) was tiny. My walk in closet is bigger than that at home. I travel to Europe often, so I am used to small rooms, and țhe room was smaller than any I’ve ever stayed in. Super cramped for two people with bags. The bathroom is the size of an RV camper or bus bathroom. Breakfast was minimal, but there was a waffle maker which saved it. We were not able to try out the hot tub and sauna because it closed at 10pm, about the time we returned to our room from sightseeing. I attempted to bring a coffee back to the room from breakfast for my girlfriend who was still sleeping and I was told that wasn’t allowed.

What’s not to like about all things Viking! The restaurant is top notch! You may even be serenaded! Our friend said it was kitschy but we respectfully disagree. Profound respect for Viking history and lore, we loved it! When I say “we” my wife and I! Great accommodations especially “the rooms of the gods”. Loved it all!

Small but comfortable room if you don’t have a lot of luggage. Very nice amenities great water pressure. Nice small bathtub but good enough for a quick soak. If you’re tourist and curious about the Vikings is a bit kitchie, but very fun. Missed the opportunity to eat at the Viking restaurant, but the breakfast was quite good.

Staff were amazing and accommodating with an early check in. Bed was super comfy. It was pretty quiet for the most part but I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring the whole night. Room was also warm with no air conditioning or window to open. But otherwise, would stay again! Breakfast had a lot of options and was yummy.

I am sure when it is full in the summer it will be less quiet. It was a great location as a base for our exploration and has loads of interesting Viking artifacts. Room was small but sufficient, breakfast was nice, they made us a sandwich we picked up the second morning because we had to leave to get to the airport before breakfast. Hot pool was great after a long day of walking and driving. Everyone spoke English really well. I would stay here again if I ever go back to Iceland!

The decor of the hotel was beautiful. The Viking Theme was excellent. The service was excellent. The rooms were clean. The rooms are not huge, but are comfortable. I would call it a quant, clean, Inn. The Hotel has a sauna and a small hot tub. There is also an attached restaurant that serves excellent food. I had a great time staying at the hotel.

Struttura molto carina e accogliente, per il prezzo pagato va benissimo, c'è stato solo un problema credo con expedia sulla prenotazione, io avevo prenotato una camera da letto e ci hanno fatto un cottage (che era super carino) con 6 letti singoli e siamo in due, abbiamo chiesto se era possibile avere una camera matrimoniale ma a quanto pare l'hotel era tutto occupato. La colazione è semplice ma con le cose necessarie, non un tripudio ecco ma c'era tutto. la location comoda, comodo il parcheggio, abbiamo mangiato nel loro ristorante che fortunatamente chiude alle 10. Comodo anche il fatto di poter fare check-in a qualsiasi ora. Nel complesso raccomandato per chi vuole un alloggio vicino a Reykjavik economico e carino.

The property definitely involed the viking ambience feel in the rooms and common areas. However, the family rooms were quite s m all with no adequate spaces to put suitcases. We lived out of ours for 10 days. All the beds were uncomfortable really need to upgraded. Just putting a foam top does jit f I rrect a bad bed.
