"This little gem is almost perfect. It is quite a beautiful little hotel 6 minutes from San Gimignano. The rooms are cool, dark and very well isolated. We had a room facing the dinner area, and we did'nt hear a sound of the guest. Only when they dragged their chair did we hear a small noise. The surrounding area is really nice. They also offer shuttle service to San Gimignano so you can leave your car for the day. The breakfast was ok, lots of cakes. Plus for having dairy options for lactose intolerant people. General service of the hotel was really good, but when my wife found cork in her wine which was served at dinner, one of the waiters got annoyed when she told them and asked for a new glass. She did receive it of course, but the reaction to it was not so pleasant. We recommend this hotel for a stay if you want to visit San Gimignano. The only thing missing here would be a gym room. There's not to many option of running or working out in the surrounding area."

"Very nice facilities for camping and great with all the pools and the information which helps you with daytrips. They have a cheap bus that delivers you "close enough" to the city centre. (All honor to the busdriver which came back for us because there was not enough seats for us). I used the mornings to run up and down the river, and there are great roads both up to the mountains and down to Firenze for running and ccycling. I would also recommend ot buy the breakfast in the store, rather than using 8 EUR on a minimum breakfast. Unfortunately we had a premium cabin with insect problems. Every day when we came in after a long day the snik was full of insects. And there is NO WIFI connection in the cabins, that is ONLY in the common areas. "

"Not sure why this place has such a high rating. Don't get me wrong, the property is very nice amd historic and the gardens are well kept. However the main functions that the hotel should provide are more of a 6/10 for me. The bed was incredibly hard and V-shaped in the middle. Maybe the bed is 500 years old too? The hotel rented out their facilities for a communion one evening and the loud guests were through the hallsways and outside and the sound carrys very well throughout the hotel so you hear every scratch and snease from the neighbors. Moreover, a bit strange that the hotel staff ask you to not have your room cleaned - well in fact they give you the "choice". But the "choice" is presented to you with the staff watching as you select if you 1. want to have your room cleaned (in red) or 2. if you want to help with the climate and not have it cleaned (in green). A bit pressure and stange way to do things. All this being said, the breakfast was quite good for a country that doesn't usually go the extra mile for the breakfast at hotels."
