Vertshus i Ferryhill

«This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August.»

«Quirky rooms but very unclean, tv was like watching a tv from 2010 terrible quality.»

«Friendly welcome. Efficient check-in at the bar. Spotlessly clean bedding and towels. Comfy bed. Bathroom clean but in need of refurb (eg tile grout/ sealant).»

«Lite, trangt rom over pub. Renhold ikke helt greit, ikke mulighet for frokost. Cirka halvtime gåtur fra togstasjon.»

«The lady who checked in was so lovely, even took us to our room. Every member of staff asks if you need help finding anything and direct you to were you need to be. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast included in the room stay was 10/10.»

«Room was clean but very cold couldn’t get the underfloor heating to work Breakfast was disappointing plate was oily eggs were overcooked beans were cold as if the were straight out of the tin as was the mushroom and tomato sausages ,bacon ,black pudding and hash brown were lukewarm and didn’t come with toast or fried bread»

«Every time I travel back north I stay at this place as it's friendly, has what you need and more-aka the restaurant next door and nearby to bigger shops too»

«Pros: - Very friendly and helpful staff. - Good location for reaching the cathedral and city, within walking distance from most things. - I slept in the Cruise, where the bed was amazing, and you could sit on a cushion on the windowsill and enjoy a book and an excellent view. - The room looked old, but didn't smell musty, and seemed very clean. I was impressed! - Separate bar. - Restaurant (didn't try it, though). Cons: - You were not allowed to bring any food into your room. ...

«The room was disgusting and will never go back there after what we had seen in the room we have plenty of photos and videos to show and put online»

«Excellent stay.»

«Very nice surprise with the location at the bottom of Roseberry Toppin , didn’t know about this until we arrived . The hotel is a treat to stay there. We were going to a friends house in Whitby and travelling from west of Scotland. Hence it was good to stop off , we visited Stokesley near bye and loved the English village life . We will stop here again and the cost was worth it.»

«Good location with excellent views, unfortunately room was very basic and smelt damp. The shower was poor and the bathroom wasn’t very clean. Continental breakfast in October??? Over priced stay for basic amenities.»
