"The rating here reflects the hotel meeting our expectations. (We knew it was a 3 star when we booked.)
Excellent location for access to city center. The property is showing signs of it age and has a dated/run down feel. The staff was courteous and efficient but did not have that «little extra» as expected in the hospitality industry (exception to this noted further down.) There were a few items not in room as expected (hand soap, coffee cups for the coffee maker) yet this was quickly resolved. Comfortable beds and sheets, spacious bathroom (in the room with 2 queen beds.)
While the valet parking was pricey at $48, we felt it was a good value for our priorities: safe overnight parking downtown and extended into next day while we enjoyed downtown Portland (breakfast, shopping).
Specific thanks to Jonathan, the Night Audit Lead, for professional email follow-up regarding our reservation and for courteous and fast response to our request for extra comforters for one of our two rooms."
