Upstairs Unit in Waterfront duplex in Ellsworth, ME. Located where the Union river meets Leonard Lake, this 3BR waterfront retreat is the ideal choice for a family getaway. Nestled on a 2-acre wooded lot, enjoy cooking on the outdoor grill after a long day on the water soaking up the sun on the 2 provided kayaks.
When you want to explore, downtown Ellsworth is 5 minutes away, while Acadia National Park is 30 minutes from home.

    Cozy family fall visit

    What a view! We stayed two couples and 1 (18 month old). The house was just a short drive into downtown Ellsworth. Just about 8-10 Minutes to the local restaurants, LLBean outlet, and a wonderful playground/park. The home had comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, recently updated furniture/decor, and an exceptional view. We had plenty of space and enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend!

    Lovely lake view!

    The view from the house out to the lake, wrapped in fall colors was beyond our expectations. Comfortable and well appointed. Some construction noise, but we were gone most of the day, so it didn’t bother us.

    Vacation to Acadia National Park

    Enjoyed the beauty of the area especially Acadia National Park. The property was great and well equipped for a wonderful stay. Enjoyed local restaurants: Sylvia's Cafe, Governors, Shinbashi and Union River Lobster Pot. Only one draw back was having another guest in the basement and hearing their music and wondering if they could hear us.

    Comfortable, well appointed home

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and well appointed home. The owner thought of every detail imaginable. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The owner was very responsive when we had a problem with a chirping carbon dioxide detector. Also great view of the lake. Would definitely stay here again.

    September in Ellsworth

    We had a lovely time visiting Bangor, Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, and much of the other surrounding area. The house was as pictured and very quiet for being off a relatively well traveled route, and the lake was beautiful. A big thank you to our hostess who provided wonderful suggestions of places to visit and dine during our stay.

    Beautiful and serene

    7 of us stayed on this property very comfortably. Everything we needed was available. As a larger group, we enjoyed being able to eat some meals at the house instead of dining out. Pots, pans, cutting boards, crockpot, measuring cups and spoons--all present. There was even a chocolate melting pot (we didn't use, but it made me smile that it was even there). Location was perfect between Bar Harbor and Winter Harbor (our two major destinations). We kayaked several times along the river and delighted in picking a couple bowls of the blackberries growing on the property, and eating them with breakfast. Very calming to drink coffee in the morning on the deck. Wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you for the great stay!

    Such a great house!

    We recently stayed at this property for a family wedding and the house was amazing! Everything was clean and the house was the perfect size for our family! My boys really enjoyed the bunk bed room upstairs! We highly recommend this house!

    Wonderful stay

    We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. It was exactly what we wanted. It was quaint, clean and just the right size for our family. The view was incredible!!!! We lived the location. Ellsworth was a cute little town with great restaurants. Bar Harbor was about 40 min drive. This stay made our first time to Maine unforgettable.

    What a hidden gem!

    This property was the perfect stay for 6 of us Mountain Mamas. We spent most days up in Acadia, hiking, biking, eating, sailing and catching a lobster boat tour. This was the perfect location to travel back and forth to. Suzie sent us a boatload of sites to see and places to go in the area before our stay. We managed to do almost all of it on her list. Momo’s 24 hr cheesecake was one of the best. The house and grounds were spectacular, from the views on the lake at sunrise, sunset, and on the kayaks, to the beautiful views from the cool windows from inside. ( I wish we could post pictures ). We grilled a couple of nights and everything in the kitchen you could imagine was available if you ate at the property. Each room had an air conditioner and the sleeping was fantastic. The beds were just right. Having a washer and dryer was also nice to have. The firepit was also used almost every night of our stay. Some wood was provided, but you might want to pick some up along the way. Suzie was easily reachable if we needed anything…which was rare.(fyi- the toaster has an electric fancy front that we didn’t see- just press the ON button) ….how embarrassing. Only 6 of us made the trip, so the upstairs loft/room still had 2/4 spots left. This is a great place for families, as well as a guys or girls trip! We loved it.

    Amazing Family Trip

    This house is amazing for a large family, we had 5 adults and 2 children and had lots of room. The house has everything we needed and could have wanted, very well stocked! The views from the house were spectacular and the kayaks included in the rental were very nice. It was my kids first time kayaking, the lake was easy to navigate for beginners! We would stay here again.

    Perfect family rental

    This property is amazing. We have stayed at plenty of VRBO’s over the years and we all agreed this one was the best. There’s a beautiful view of the water, the house was better stocked than any we’ve been at before, the decorating was stunning, Suzie was always quick to respond, the house was close to anything and everything you may need, just amazing top to bottom! So, if you’re looking to visit the area, look no further. We almost didn’t stay here because we knew we would be going to Bar Harbor a few times. If you have that concern… don’t, the drive is quick and the house is worth the drive. Our family agrees, if we ever come back to the area we will 100% stay here again.

    Fantastic Vacation

    Property was great. Hosts responded quickly and advised us of everything we needed to know. View of the property was beautiful, lake access was great, layout of house was great and served all of our needs. If going to Maine/Acadia again, I would definitely want to stay at this property again.

    Property had everything you could need! Air conditioning and fans in every room. Great water pressure. If you’re looking for a place that’s calm and to unwind this is your place! Also great for kids. There are 2 sets of bunk beds upstairs with a full bathroom and jetted tub. Laundry is in king size bedroom that is very quiet and fast. Bring laundry detergent.

    Wonderful house with lovely view

    Close to all the Ellsworth shops and restaurants but far away from the noise and congestion this place was a great home away from home Gas cooktop and grill on the deck make cooking easier and Dorr lobster is 5 minutes away when you want some of Maines finest fish. No complaints here!

    Excellent Property

    This property is just as beautiful as you see in the actual pictures. Very peaceful and quiet area with a lovely view but also very centrally located. It’s very close to gas stations, mini markets, fast food places and even a Super Walmart! We were 2 couples traveling and our original reservation was horrible upon checking in. It was about 8:30pm when we started looking for another property to try to checkout the same night and thankfully the owner of this property immediate responded to my message and assisted us in reserving this new property. She certainly saved our vacation and was extremely helpful and responsive at any given time. The best part was that there was air conditioning, which is extremely difficult to find in any VRBO property in these surrounding areas. Our stay was wonderful and would highly recommend this property to anyone. You will love it!

    Nice Place to Stay near Acadia/Bar Harbor

    We were a party of seven - 2 families with 4 adults and 3 kids. This house was perfect for our needs. The kids loved having the whole upstairs to themselves with the bunkbeds and the jacuzzi tub. After a long day in Acadia, we were able to cook up a pasta dinner at home instead of dragging everyone out to a restaurant. We were not there long enough to take advantage of the kayaks, but I'm sure it would have been a lot of fun! The 2 things I would want to call out to potential renters: 1) Ellsworth is deceptively far from Bar Harbor/Acadia, since it's basically a single-lane local road to get there. It took a solid 40 min each way, which can add up when you have tired/cranky kids. 2) The house is air conditioned, but only in the main area of the house and the upstairs bedroom with the bunk beds. (The 2 bedrooms downstairs are NOT air conditioned) We had a very nice stay here and would recommend!

    Lovely house in great location

    We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and comfortable. The view from the kitchen/living room was beautiful. It was perfectly located for day trips to Mount Desert Island and quick trips to Ellsworth for groceries, supplies and dinner out. The only drawbacks were that there wasn't an easy access into the lake which the house sits on, and it is a duplex (the house has a apartment in the walkout basement). When I booked the house, I did not realize it was a duplex and likely would not have booked it had I realized that. In the end, our neighbor was quiet as a mouse, and didn't complain about the noise my two dogs would constantly make walking around on the wood floors. (Which was my biggest concern.) All that being said, we would definitely book this house again.
