Very disappointing don’t waste your time or money
Amazing looking property, but looks can be deceiving. Very loud guests, no hot water & no breakfast. The manager is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. It took me three weeks to get an invoice after countless phone calls, in the end I had to drive to the property to demand my invoice. The manager was very rude & when questioned about a refund for the hotel & food, she made the whole incident to be my fault 😩

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in.
The room had a damp smell. Tell tale sign was it still had a dehumidifier in the corner of the room. Waiter was unable to provide a drinks menu with prices and no itemised bill given when paying. Breakfast was not cooked properly and had to be returned and the cappuccino from the coffee maker in restaurant was cold. Not drinkable. We both left with bites after 1 night in the room.

Oasis in Ellesemere Port
This is a fabulous small hotel in a very quiet spot in Ellesmere Port, with lots of charm, character features, and a beautiful garden. The staff are fabulous in all parts of the hotel. The restaurant serves lovely food at a fair price, served with a smile and warmth. The hotel has a rural feel, but is a short drive away to Liverpool, Hoylake for the golf, and pretty Chester, not to forget things to do nearby. Well done Brook Hall!

After meeting people to go for a meal upon return the building had been locked up 4 of us were unable to gain entry had to ring a friend to get them out of bed as they were staying there to let us in.Complained the next morning receptionist said she had just missed us and the night porter must have been running late. Later the Hotel tried to claim the door was open luckly for us our friend heard and told them it was locked and he wasn't happy about being woken to get out the bed

The hotel is beautiful and I have absolutely no problems with the facilities. However, they had done a business deal with Expedia which leaves the customers out of pocket and customers have to pay more money at check-in. I booked to stay here with my 2 children (1 adult, 2 children aged 12 & 10). When I arrived I heard the receptionist telling someone on the phone that this has happened to a few people and they needed to pay more for a bigger room. As I checked in they told me the same, that the booking I had made was for one room but they could not accommodate 3 people in the room and I needed to upgrade and pay more money. They blamed Expedia and criticised me for booking through a 3rd party and not coming direct to them. I had 2 tired & hungry children, it was about 8pm and we had tickets the next day for Chester Zoo and we live 2 hours drive away so I was left with no option but to do this. I have a business and understand I why a company may make a business arrangement with a 3rd party (such as Expedia) to increase custom and bookings. However, if this business deal goes wrong, the customers should not be left to foot the bill.

Good morning Claire, I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and saddened that it was marred by your booking experience. As I explained to you at reception, there was no problem with expedia or our reservation system. The problem arose when your husband booked you a room for your stay with us and he booked a double room instead of a triple. As I am sure you can understand, a triple room is more expensive than a double. I upgraded your room to our Superior Family Suite but only charged you the cost of a triple room upgrade. I hope this explains things to you more clearly.

Rubbish. Adam was the only decent one here.
No meet and greet. Chef will finish early and leave bar tender to do the cooking. Most menu items sold out. Or he just doesn’t know how to cook it?? Wasn’t sure which to be honest. Dirty hallways and stairs for 2 days nobody would get the hoover out. Land lady absolutely wasted infront of customers and even lied to us about going to get the bartender. There is much more for me to say but I will stop now. Overall very disappointing. Won’t be going back again. I hope the landlady will see this. She was a disgrace to the hospitality industry.

The room was cold and the bathroom was freezing. The Breakfast Dining Room was in a different place to the Dinner Dining Room. I was not told about this and although breakfast was from 7am, it was 8.15 before I found anyone in a large deserted hotel.

The room I had booked was different to the one we were given. We had booked a room with a spa bath and was given one with a shower instead. We told reception and they did change our room to one with a spa bath and the room was lovely but we couldn’t enjoy our stay as there was no hot water so we couldn’t even use the jacuzzi which was disappointing and ruined our stay as that was the main reason why we booked. When we tried to contact reception there was no answer. I wasn’t able to get a shower this morning because there was still no hot water. I was seriously unhappy with the facilities and wouldn’t recommend staying at brook hall hotel.

My room was on the ground floor at the back of the building and so nice and quiet and was spacious and nicely decorated, so my first impressions were favourable. However, my reason for staying had been for a nice relaxing evening with a bath (pictures of which had inspired my hotel choice), then room service, then sleep. Sadly the room was far too cold, with the heater switched off, and took hours to warm up. I resorted to lying in bed whilst waiting as a refuge from the cold. Many of the amenities listed on hotel.com were absent and there was no room service menus, nor phone or electronic means of ordering. There was also no phone reception in my room, making contacting the front desk impossible without going there in person, surely quite contrary to the idea of room service, should such a service exist in this hotel. In the end I gave up waiting for warmth and went to bed cold and hungry. In the morning I did use the bath, though the bathroom remained cold, being the furthest place from the heater. All in all a very disappointing stay. The following amenities were listed in the hotel.com app, but there was no evidence of any of them during my stay: 24 hour room service Dry cleaning/laundry service ATM/banking Slippers Pillow menu Turndown service iPod docking station Phone The following items were present, but disappointing: Down comforter - maybe down, definitely very thin. TV with digital TV channels - basic Freeview. Disconnected from wifi
Small heater next to bed inadequate to quickly heat room, and would have to be unbearably hot to heat the bathroom furthest away from it

The only paper in the room, inexplicably provided with a pencil. No hotel info. No room service menu. No do not disturb sign
Ground floor windows opening onto darknes concealing a strip of grass then a patchy hedge then a field. Only the one on the left locked which was unsettling

Someone ordered drinks against my room. Restaurant didn’t argue but couldn’t take off the bill. Reception also didn’t argue but took a while to remove it. Shower was cold. Bed gave me back ache. Only one veggie main on the menu but it was very delicious. Car park needs an update.

No vegetarian option on breakfast menu. Room right next to Reception Suite - loud music until early hours. No welcome information in the room eg: meal times, checkout time and use of TV. Key cards did not retain magnetisation - needed to go to Reception to get them remagnetised each time. Very poor phone signal in and outdoors.
