«We had a great stay at Fortuna Retreat. Only notes would be that the room could be a bit cleaner (in the corners of the bathroom, behind furniture) and the view from the ground floor rooms is not as advertised- you can’t get a clear view of the volcano. Otherwise the staff were amazing, the pool was lovely and the grounds were extremely well kept with beautiful greenery.»

«Incredible property. Exactly as pictured. If you’ve ever been on a 5 star African safari this is the Costa Rican equivalent. Only disappointment was our room didn’t have a volcano view as pictured but the room was incredible nonetheless and the main dining and pool area had a great view of the volcano. »

«We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful front desk at check-in, with very clear instructions about morning breakfast. Excellent hot springs at various temperatures laid out very nicely with privacy. Rooms were very spacious and luxurious and the beds were very comfortable. There isn’t really anything in walking distance but there is tons near by if you are driving ! The property owner was extremely kind and had great suggestions for activities for our stay. «Amazing people working there! So helpful, and friendly. I was sick and couldn't do a zip line trip that I ordered via the hotel, didn't have to pay for it. Wanted to do a trek via a company the hotel didn't have a deal with...no problem, the hotel owner called them and saved us 10$ on the trek! Stayed for three nights there and loved every minute of it. «I have to say Costa Rica on a whole is a very clean country, the hotel was the same . Very clean and helpful and pleasant staff. We only got breakfast, but the food was good and always on time. There’s no night life at the hotel or around the area and shop closes 10pm latest . A very quiet stay and more sounds of wildlife and nature . Saw many types of pretty birds at the compound and great view of the volcano.»
