This delightful, romantic, wooden house is in the heart of nature, surrounded by stunning countryside. For true relaxation, this is the perfect destination.

The property is a traditional farmers’ house, spread over a single floor, and can sleep up to 4 people. It has been thoughtfully furnished, both inside and out, with all the rooms leading off a central corridor. The open-plan living area, with a wooden floor throughout, has a comfortable sofa, next to a wooden table which seats 5 people and a flat-screen TV. The modern, fully-equipped, kitchen has a cooker hob, oven, microwave, and fridge/freezer.

The house has a loggia area, outside the front door. This has been beautifully decorated and acts as an outdoor living and dining room. There are wooden outdoor chairs, a BBQ and a separate dining table for guests to dine al fresco. There is also a well-kept private garden, with volleyball and badminton equipment, a hammock and a swing, absolutely perfect for children or pets to play.

Location
Set in a small village, in the quiet countryside, just a 10-minute drive from the pretty town of Duga Resa, this charming house has much to offer. Visitors can explore the natural surroundings, with hiking and mountain bike trails nearby. There is a river beach on the pristine Mreznica River just 1.5km away. Further afield is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Plitvice Lakes (1-hour 10-minute drive), which is a national park. This stunning nature reserve is known for its waterfalls, lakes and rivers. Visitors can hike through the park, or take boat trips.

The Renaissance city of Karlovac is a 25-minute drive from the house. It is known as the “City of Four Rivers”, thanks to the four rivers which run through it. The rivers are very clean, with many beaches for swimming, as well as activities such as fishing, kayaking and rafting. Visitors can sample local specialities in the food market, which takes place Monday – Friday 7 am to 3 pm. Dubovac Castle is also worth a visit, especially as it has an excellent restaurant where visitors can sample some fine Croatian cuisine. Karlovac is famous for its beer and hosts Croatia’s oldest annual beer festival every August.

The stunning Croatian coastline, with its beautiful beaches and coves, is just 1 hour and 30 minutes away. Franjo Tudman International Airport in Zagreb, which is just a 1 hour 5 minute drive away.
