Pleasant stay on business
Nice clean room. Comfortable bed. Good food in the restaurant in the evening, nice English breakfast i the morning.

This was a terrible experience. Am a fan of Holiday Inns and have stayed in them at various locations across the UK. Yesterday evening i was told by staff i would have to wait an hour after ordering for food (for me that was not a problem) but it doesn't look good. Next the beer i wanted went off tap. Next on asking for a taxi to be booked i was given a list of numbers and told i would need to call them myself. From the list, one was a dead line and another had no response. Hotels have more local knowledge than a visitor. Next the shower would not work but after playing with it for a while it began to work but only slightly. This was by far the worst experience i have had at an IMG hotel. Please don't let it happen again.

Stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the room and the breakfast was really good. However we decided to order a snack from the menu one evening. I ordered a sandwich, the menu stated fresh bloomer bread, brown or white, tuna, spring onion, mayonnaise and black pepper. When I received this it was 2 thin slices of 50/50 bread, no spring onion and the thinnest filling of tuna, more like spread. The charge for this was £8.00!! Definitely not worth the cost.

Ok hotel
Hotel its self was ok. The rooms were clean and had what you needed in the room. The night we were there, there was a power cut to the area and the staff didn’t have a clue how to manage anything. There apparently was no manager on and the manager didn’t see this as enough of an emergency to come in and help their staff out!

Dear Gillian,Thank you for your comments.I apologise for the inconvenience. There was a power outage in the area from 7.30pm to 7.50pm on Saturday night. This was beyond the control of the hotel. I am at a loss however as to why you say that there was no manager as the deputy manger of the hotel was on site 10 minutes after the power outage occurred. He was dressed in civilian clothes so i can only assume that it was not obvious as to his role.Once again apologies for the temporary issue.Kind regards

Nice Hotel
Nice hotel. Clean and spacious room. Pleasant staff. Reastaurant was OK but took a long time for food to be delivered. Staff did appologise, there was some issue in the kitchen I think. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Its in the middle of a motorway so for those without a car, you are limited to KFC, McDonalds or sandwiches from the petrol stations.

Friendly helpful and jolly staff , room was a little cold, food was good and restaurant/ bar was comfortable and but whoever either designed or chose the soap dispensers in the shower got it wrong. They are too high and in the wrong place

Room 203 was freezing cold and the floorboards outside the door were very creaky. Due to the location of the room (beside the stairwell), a lot of people passed the room.

Parking fine for parking in the car park!
Had a weekend stay for daughters competition 2 nights. Breakfast was very good clean pleasant hotel but was spoiled when I recieved £100 fine for parking in the Hotels car park. Was told on arrival to enter my reg to avoid fine but not that I had to re enter each day of stay to avoid fine he should of been clear that I needed to enter each morning feel robbed!

Our Bank Holiday stay at the Holiday Inn

Very good value for money other than expensive dinner options. You have more reasonable options and prices before 6 pm. Breakfast was very good, however. Room was clean and large. We requested a room change to the quiet side of the hotel (overlooking the car park) and were given one quickly. Reception service was really good. Would come again. .

Family trip August 2023.
Excellent central location for our touring in Yorkshire. Easy to find and equally accessible. Family room was ideal for us. No bath which was fine ,but the walk in shower with seat could have done with some grab handles. Only had meal at the inn house restaurant 1st day,which, whilst food was very good,was too expensive for us in comparison to pub style meals half the price a short drive away. Would still look for another Holiday Inn for future travels though.

Hotel pulito, un po' rumoroso (aria condizionata + pavimenti scricchiolanti,). Posizione davvero in mezzo al nulla ma vicino all'autostrada. Consiglio solo se si é di passaggio. Colazione buona.

Holiday Inn Darlington review
Visiting Newcastle from home in the south to attend concert. Ideal location for quick getaway the next day, idealy located on A1, 40 minutes from Newcastle. Clean, friendly and economical. Nice breakfast included in price

Very convenient to the main road, all the staff were extremely helpful, the wifi was absolutely useless in the rooms, this was really disappointing, also no electrical outlets by the bed side for a CPAP machine.
