«Very pleasant small property. 5 mins walk from central Ambleside. Well equipped and warm. Perhaps a bit small for a family of 4 but great for two people. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. Only one parking space but a car park 4 mins walk down the hill. Would recommend.»

«This is a particularly good holiday apartment - excellent in the true meaning of the word. It almost feels like you go through a secret door up to somewhere heavenly.... certainly a spacious place where love and thought have been invested as well as money. The advance information from the owners was also particularly helpful.The location is excellent - just up from the Promenade via a pedestrian route but on a quiet road. The double flight straight up results in superb views over the Kent ...

«Had the most loveliest break away with the family. This was our third visit to barneys cottage and every time has been perfect. Our dogs loved the local walks seeing all the animals, the hot tub was a treat to come back to after a day of hiking and Kevin is always welcoming and accommodating. The cottage is cosy & peaceful and clean. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we visit the lakes with our pups. Already looking forward to booking our next visit! »

«Very disappointed, The property needs a complete renovation, not as advertised, don’t rely on reviews as they are not consistent., apparently there have been problems there for many years & have not been put right. Have made a complaint to company advertising this property & said they should check it out as I don’t want any other people rent the property to be disappointed as we were, it needs a complete update. »

«A wonderful stay with friends to celebrate my 50th! The cottage was beautiful, location stunning and information for guests excellent.We initially couldn’t find the lock box on arrival and shared our amusement of trying to find the fourth bedroom but couldn’t fault the attention to detail and how well equipped the cottage was. »
