We have just returned from our second stay at Villa Piedra. And it certainly won't be our last. The location, the views, the comfort and the wonderful owners, Helene and Iraklis, made our holiday perfect. Iraklis met us at the airport with the hire car already ready and waiting, and after the short drive to the villa (I recommend first gear for the hill!) where Helene was waiting with a generously stocked fridge and some delicious home-made baguettes which were much appreciated after an Easyjet flight. The kids love the pool, the jacuzzi and the selection of Wii games and DVDs to keep them occupied when they're taking a break from the sun. Iraklis and Helene provide as much (or as little) assistance and advice as you need. We opted to have Georgia the cleaner each day. She brought fresh bread, bottles of water and did the hand-washing which was beyond the call of duty! Iraklis helped us to order take-away food on a couple of occasions, recommended beaches, delis and restaurants (also reserving the best tables if you wish). Consequently we found ourselves eating, sunbathing and shopping where the locals do, which is always preferable to following the tourists. We visited the great, and very different, beaches at Issos, Glyfada and Pelekas, and ate out in Corfu Town and Benitses. When we weren't eating out we spent several relaxing evenings sitting by the pool, barbequeing and enjoying the fantastic views across to mainland Greece and Albania. The villa has been superbly built and decorated and is luxurious in every possible way. It is truly a 5 star environment and with service to match (if you wish). We can't wait to go back!
