«The property is historic, yet well renovated, so we were comfortable. They also provide tea and cups of noodles at no additional cost if guests need a snack. The biggest bonus is that it's a traditional Japanese house in a historic part of town, so staying there is a travel experience in itself. The small intersection the house is located at is even on the front cover of a tourist handout at the local TI office. We highly recommend it. »

«This was my favorite accommodation in Japan. It was very cozy and made me feel home. We had the Sennari room. There were 4 beds in two rooms but we only used two. There was a microwave, fridge, kitchen sink with dishes/soap, washer/dryer, kitchen table, sofa. It was two levels with bedrooms upstairs. We never saw our host. It was self check in with a code. It was located in a great area. We were able to walk to and from the train with our luggage. There were several restaurants and shopping very ...

«I booked this stay for the first day of the Takayama Autumn Festival so of course the price was crazy high. My issue is that the hotel was supposed to send an email with check in instructions 24 hours in advance, which didn’t happen. Upon arriving at the address after a long day of travel, I had no idea how to get into the room or even who to contact. There was only a sign with a phone number and when I tried calling it, it wouldn’t go through. Finally, I went to a local café owner and asked ...
