Flott hotell
Flott hotell med god og hyggelig service, fine og renslige rom. Fint område og hyggelig å sitte ute i hagen. Maten var ok, ellers et fantastisk opphold:)

This hotel was horrid. Dirty, dusty, musky, noisy, broken, in dire need of a total refurb. We arrived at 10pm to find the hotel unstaffed, our key was simply left on the counter. We went up to our room, we had paid £135 for an upgrade to a 'Superior/King Room' and were given Room #2. I wanted to cry when I walked in. The room looked like a shabby nursing home. It stunk of dust/musk, had the most bizarre furnishings and decoration that made the place really unwelcoming, and looked NOTHING AT ALL like any of the photos listed on this add, which all show nice modern clean rooms; are they fake? The bathroom was the real horror story. Broken flood tiles, exposed pipes, creepy tiled steps up to a bath (which was a deathtrap, broken non-matching taps, and a shower that didn't work properly (you had to have both bath and shower on). The lighting in both bathroom and bedroom was garish and white, no mood or ambience at all. The room was stifling hot despite it being a mere 18º outside, no air con or fan provided. We opened the bedroom windows but the roar of traffic from the M4 was horrendous. The heavy centuries-old dusty curtains also let in no breeze at all; yet they could not be left open as there were flood-lights on all night right outside the window. It really was a house of horrors, and completely fraudulent given the images of an entirely different hotel that they have posted on this website. Ruined our holiday. Will be seeking damages. AVOID.

Great location but very noisy
Had to make up an excuse and leave after 4 hours. So noisy could hear people going to the toilet and having sex in the next room. Very embarrassing

No water pressure in the bathroom, Room 5!
Overall stay was nice, but the downfall was the water pressure, or lack of any pressure at all, in the bathroom. If you used the toilet, you couldnt wash your hands because absolutely no water would come out of the sink faucets. I understand the hotel is old, but you cant run a hotel without water pressure! The restaurant foid was very good!

Pros - beautiful county manor only 5 minutes away from M4. - Plenty of parking - Good Wi-Fi - Nice hot power shower Cons - Room wasn’t the cleanest - Very dated decor, needs updating - Room was cold when we arrived, however we put the radiators on max heat and within a couple of hours it had warmed up - No staff onsite overnight? You’re given a phone number to call in emergencies…

Atmospheric and cosy - this is a little gold nugget in hotel Accommodation. Staff were attentive and flexible. The room was clean, serviceable and warm. I shall definitely return.

Nice location , poor standards in room.
Been here in the past a number of years ago which prompted me to stay again. This stay was not as good the room I was in needs some redecoration, had stains on the walls, nowhere to do any work had to sit on the bed, it was a very cold room. Only good thing was the bed was very comfortable. Won't be staying again unless changes are made

Fab Hotel in fab location, lovely rooms, nice bar area, BUT, very peculiar breakfast options!!! £14.00 for Continental and if you should wish, having already paid £14.00 for continental you can then upgrade to cooked for another £10.00!!! Very odd arrangement indeed! Needless to say I decided not to take breakfast at potentially £24.00!

Grounds were lovely. Room was fantastic, staff were poor. Free water in room, missing. free limoncello, non existent, and no offer of anything else. Some items unplugged in room, and impossible to reach to plug back in. Horrible smell of stale or greasy food, put us off eating in the hotel. Restaurant and breakfast were overpriced as well. Not what I was expecting as this was the most expensive of the hotels we stayed in. I emailed a complaint to the hotel several days ago, no response yet. Hence, my review now.

Extremely noisy stay, two night stay and not a peaceful sleep either night. First room you could hear every footstep from the room above. When we requested a room change to the floor above we were woken early morning by the boiler heating up and rattling and banging.

overwhelming smell of cooked lamb and meat throughout property - made me think of a grandmas unclean kitchen. not great for a vegetarian. stayed in plenty of properties like this - but do something about kitchen ventilation! it stinks!

Os arredores do hotel são muito bonitos. No entanto se você não estiver de carro terá problemas para locomover se. Fica em uma área rural, bem afastado da cidade de Chippenham, em torno de 10 minutos de carro até o centro. O banheiro é catastrófico, não possui chuveiro e a banheira é bem antiga. Banheiro enorme mas não funcional, pia minúscula. A porta para a varanda não fechava com chave, nos sentimos inseguros. Café da manhã fraco e sem opções. Não tem recepção. Cama desconfortável. Cheiro de pó. Não pretendo voltar.

An old school but charming hotel
This is wonderful hotel, a little dated but that adds to its charm and the staff are all kind and helpful. Room 4 is right above reception and also the breakfast continental buffet area and is quite noisy so avoid it. Hopefully feedback will see the hotel improve sound insulation on this room. Overall though it wasn’t a huge issue and everything else made up for my early morning wake up call!

Duty manager was really helpful aiming to get our room ready early as we needed to check in before a concert. Staff were friendly. Manor was a lovely old house with some original features. Our bedroom, however looked nothing like the example on the website. It was huge and clean with a superking comfortable very clean bed. The rest of the room was very dated and tired. Wallpaper had obvious damp patches. Bizarrely there were 2 identical cheap modern pictures on opposite walls which clashed with the striped wallpaper. The furniture was all old and mismatched rather than eclectic. There was a settee in the room but was quite stained. The tea making facilities were good but with biscuits rather than homemade flapjacks as advertised. The restaurant was very disappointing. The website highlights the skills of the chef, local and homegrown produce and a Sunday roast. No Sunday lunch was on offer and a very limited menu. We had the salad which was delicious and fish and chips. The fish was good but the chips were huge wedges which had been cooked so much they were dark brown and hard. Breakfast was expensive and didnt live up to expectations. A continental is £14.50 Full english which was 1 sausage 2 folded bacon 2 eggs 1 lukewarm tomato dry black pudding and a tiny dish of beans was £18.50 with no toast. Coffee was lukewarm. Sweeteners never arrived despite requesting. Service was slow. It was perfectly adequate and located for what we needed and we'd use again but skip breakfast

A hidden idyll
Sublime stay! We had the gorgeous room 1 with its fabulous comfortable bed and amazing bathroom. We were looked after so well by the very warm, friendly and attentive staff and could not have asked for more. The hotel itself is full of character and charm and well looked after. 10/10

Stanton Manor Hotel offered a peaceful respite from the M4, so convenient, beautiful garden to escape to for a short time. Very comfortable bedroom. Lovely restaurant and bar. Good find.

Leider war es bis Mitternacht sehr laut. Man hatte das Gefühl, dass ganze Zimmer umdekoriert werden. Leider haben wir trotz zweimaliger Nachfrage keine Händehandtücher bekommen. Beim Frühstück war der Anteil am Continental Breakfast sehr übersichtlich und würde nicht nachgefüllt, eährend wir da waren

Cold & Hungry
Heating & hot water are only on between 18:30 - 22:00 and from 06:30. When I stayed it was -4C. I only took my winter coat off to sleep. When I stayed there was a problem with the kitchen I was could not get hot food. All local pubs were closed so I ended up eating a bag of chips from a takeaway in Malmesbury. Sorry but will not be returning.

Beautiful hotel - well worth it!
Beautiful hotel, fantastic room, friendly staff. A really lovely night away for a reasonable price. We had an evening meal in our room which was very nice. My only criticism would be the vegetarian breakfast - really wasn’t great. But everything else was fantastic - would highly recommend!

One night stay!!
Only stayed the one night but found the staff exceptionally friendly and helpfull. Room was spacious and clean and also the bed was very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in that area.
