Do not expect 5 star service and facilities
The Marriott Hotel in Chiang Mai is not a 5 star hotel by any standards. It is a soulless machine that lacks the attention to detail and charm so many hotels in Thailand can boost. Chaotic breakfast service with good variety but no heart put into providing food of quality; uninspired Thai dishes, stale factory bread, cheap tea bags... Dirty carpets in the lifts. Cheap bathroom products. Blocked toilet and leak from roof (which were quickly fixed, but nevertheless). The many little things that added together makes you feel like you are in a mediocre 4 star hotel. I chose Marriott for location as my favourite hotels in CM - Yaang Come Village, Tamarind Village, and the Rachamankha hotel were all fully booked. Depending on your budget, try one of these instead!

Perfekt beliggenhet
Le Meridien ligger perfekt plassert med gangavstand til old town, marked og annen shopping. Servicen på hotellet var upåklagelig og engelskkunnskapen til de ansatte var utmerket. Rommet var rent med god utsikt (10etg) og badet var stort og behagelig med badekar. Et lite minus er at interiør begynner å bli noe slitt. Bassengområdet og treningssenter stod til forventningene. Det anbefales at hotellet bestilles med frokost, denne er meget bra.

Easily recommended
Extremely attentive and also friendly staff, lovely pool area, nice bathroom, comfy bed but somewhat dated furniture. Furthermore, the hotel has a splendid receiption and a great bar with lovely staff. I will stay there again, certainly, next time I visit Chiang Mai.

We have stayed here before on 3 other occasions and found our stay this time to be very underwhelming. Twice the staff lost our drink orders by the pool, the staff in general were not as on point for what you would expect at a Marriott hotel. The property was clean however lots of tiny flies flying around the food at breakfast time especially the fruits. One day our door was not closed properly after housekeeping. It was quite alarming, luckily our room was at the end of a corridor so you wouldn’t know unless you were down that end - No one had been in from what we could tell. I remember coming here every other trip and having that, I’m on in holidays and staying in a luxury hotel feeling with the staff being absolutely amazing.
