Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.
The front desk appeared to be run by a single individual, and the lack of professionalism was immediately apparent. Upon arrival, I was not greeted—only stared at. When checking in, I explained that we were traveling with a baby and requested a ground-floor room. I was abruptly told “no” and assigned a third-floor room, with the comment that it was “only ten steps,” which was completely inaccurate.
Carrying a baby and baby essentials up multiple flights of stairs was extremely difficult, especially after we later observed that there were many rooms available on the first floor. This refusal to accommodate us was unnecessary and frustrating.
The front desk staff member was rude and dismissive during check-in. Notably, his demeanor changed entirely when another guest of a different ethnicity arrived behind me, becoming polite and welcoming. This contrast was uncomfortable and concerning.
Additionally, the front desk refused to provide a check-in receipt or confirmation, stating that because the reservation was booked through third, he could not provide one. This is inaccurate. Hotels are able to provide confirmation regardless of booking source. The same refusal occurred at checkout, leaving us uneasy about documentation tied to our stay.
When my fiancé asked to speak with a manager the following day, he was told to relay the message through the same staff member, which was unprofessional.
