I booked a King room approximately one month in advance. Upon check-in, we were not informed that our room had been changed. When we went upstairs, we immediately noticed it was not the King room we had reserved. After returning downstairs, we were told that our King room had been given to another guest.
When I called the front desk to resolve the issue, I was informed that there was nothing they could do unless I went online, searched for a King room myself, booked it again, and then brought proof to the front desk. I was essentially asked to rebook the room I had already secured a month prior. I ended up having to book the room a second time, after which the second reservation was refunded and we were finally given the correct room.
This entire process was unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming, especially considering that the original error was not ours. Additionally, the AC in the initial room made us feel unwell shortly after entering, which added to the discomfort of the situation.
When I requested that a manager contact me to discuss the experience, the front desk staff responded dismissively, stating that the issue had already been resolved. While we were eventually placed in the correct room, the inconvenience, lost time, and manner in which the situation was handled were never addressed.
