Shepherds Cottage - Spacious cottage with sea views

Beautiful detached stone cottage on the outskirts of Beadnell village with sea and countryside views. Set in a large garden Shepherds Cottage has 4 large bedrooms all ensuite and plenty of living space for all of the guests - The lounge has views across the fields to the sea and has a wood fired stove, there is a formal dining room and seating area which leads into the large conservatory with a dining table which sits 12 and sofas for you to relax and enjoy the sunsets. The spacious farmhouse kitchen has seating for 10 and enjoys views over the garden.

Bedrooms:

1. Family bedroom with Superking bed and 1 single bed. - ensuite with jacuzzi bath
2. Twin bedded room with balcony - ensuite with shower
3. Double room with garden views - ensuite with shower
4 Family room with king size bed and single bed - balcony - ensuite with shower

In the garden there is a fully kitted out games room with full size snooker table, pool table and table tennis table and an indoor BBQ hut seating 10. The garden is fully enclosed so perfect for children and dogs. The beach is 15 minutes walk away through the village. There are other properties in the grounds which can be rented together for larger groups

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.The kitchen was well equipped although i always take a few of my own bits and pieces. I would recommend an oven thermometer as it is hard to read the dials. I am not used to a halogen hob but we managed. Lovely big fridge and freezer. Lots of seating areas for people to chill. Although this is essentially a bungalow there are steep steps down to the patio area and games room and a few steps in the house. The step down into the conservatory got me every blooming time, must be an age thing as i was the oldest in our family party. The games room is a fabulous asset although the serious players wished they had taken their own snooker cue and heavier darts ha ha. Towels are provided but we bought a couple of extra tea towels.We had a wonderful stay and i would definitely recommend this house to any of my friends.

A brilliant cottage in a good location,We as a famliy had a great time there, from cooking in the barbecue hut to spending time in the games room, the first I've seen on a guest cottage with a full size snooker table. Our granddaughter loved playing in tge spacious garden. A huge thanks to our host Samamtha and the team for providing a welcoming space for our holiday.

A lovely spacious house. Ideal for bringing the family together. The games room was a huge hit. The garden was perfect for the dogs. Beautiful views. Lovely cosy lounge with the fire. Lovely farmhouse kitchen. A very homely feel about the house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cottage for a big family gathering with dogs and kids - totally enclosed big garden so dogs and kids can run free - lots of inside and outside seating and tables for meals, and for people to do their own thing - 20 minutes walk to a lovely beach - brilliant games room Altogether highly recommended

Excellent stay

Lovely spacious house in fantastic proximity to Beadnell. We particularly loved the games room. Sam was exceptional in communicating details of check in etc and in providing local info. Highly recommended and would love to come back.

Fabulous holiday

We had a fantastic stay at Shepherd’s Cottage, lovely house and perfect for our New Year holiday with friends. It’s really well equipped, extremely comfortable with a very thoughtful owner. We’d highly recommend it and would definitely return.

The booking process on line was easy. Communications with owner were quickly responded too and informative. Payment was simple on-line. Premises were perfect for our party of 10 people with plenty of space so that you were never on top of each other. The games room was an added bonus.

Family Break

The perfect location for sightseeing the Northumberland coast. The property was ideal for our three families and exactly as described. We have stayed in a number of properties but the amenities at the cottage were superb and far outweighed any we have previously visited. All weather , all ages

The teenagers loved the games room and the variety of rooms available meant that everyone had personal space but could come together for meals. A fully equipped kitchen and large fridge was much appreciated, as were the arrival treats .The cake was delicious . Location is good for beaches and towns, and every leaflet,booklet and menu was available for local attractions. Even the set of binoculars on the shelf was a thoughtful detail . A fantastic week away with every type of weather , including some amazing thunderstorms and lots of sunshine . Thanks x

Wonderful spacious property, warm and welcoming, perfect for our 3 generations and furry friends.

We have had a wonderful week in Shepherd's cottage - what a gem of a place and with hosts who have thought of everything to make it home from home. A homemade cake on arrival was a fantastic greeting and Steve talked us through all the important bits (keys, heating, outside spaces and rooms) but left us to explore on our own, which was fab. One bedroom (sleeping 3) is off on it's own, next to the main lounge, which was great for us who liked to get up earlier than the rest as we didn't disturb anyone else. Great that all the rooms were en suite too. The lovely farmhouse kitchen, with seating at a table for 10, is a brilliant space for coming together at mealtimes, even if we were eating different things! Lovely big conservatory too which we used for board games and chill out space. We also had a go in the BBQ hut, which is really cosy and gets lovely and warm once the coals are lit. Great for us too was the bike store - got a 14 and 24 mile ride in on a couple of days. Some of the back lanes are lovely and quiet. And I ran 3 times during the week too, so the washing machine came in very handy :-) Beadnell beach is 15 mins walk away, or 3 mins in the car, great free parking in a lot of these coastal spots. Seahouses, Bamburgh, Alnwick all visited, as was Dunstanburgh castle, Berwick upon Tweed and Holy Island. All in all, a fabulous stay. Tried to book for next year's Autumn half term, but it's already booked out - I can't say I'm surprised! Thank you Sam and Steve, and best of luck with your new builds .... I definitely fancy trying those wood fired hot tubs! We will be back.

Fantastic home to discover Northumberland from :)

We booked the October school week with friends in Shepherd's Cottage, hoping to explore an area we did not know - what a fantastic base it turned out to be. The accommodation was more than we could have hoped for (4 adults and 3 'tween' girls) and we were made especially welcome by Sam and the lovely cake, chocolates and wine she left for us (as well as milk, tea, coffee ect.) There was also lots of very useful information on the local area. Shepherd's Cottage has everything and more you could want for a holiday home and was a fantastic place to spend time with friends ..... the girls even cooked for us one night and hosted a Murder Mystery game, which was great fun. We loved the BBQ hut and enjoyed cooking the great produce from the butcher in Bamburgh and the Games Room was well used. Beadnell is a short walk from the cottage and The Craster Arms pub does great food. We fell in love with the Northumberland coast - beautiful beaches, castles, great food, fantastic golf courses and friendly locals. The girls loved their day out to Alnwick Castle and learning the 'fly' a broomstick. We will definitely be back to explore some more and hope the weather will be as kind. Many thanks to Sam and family for making this a holiday with lots of memories. p.s. Many thanks to Sam for helping return a jacket we had left behind :)

Fantastic and comfortable accommodation with everything you would need. Excellent service.

Great accommodation for a weekend away catch up,with friends. All the rooms are warm and comfortable and there is lots of space to sit and catch up or for playing games. We really enjoyed the delicious cake which was there for us on arrival. All the rooms are well equipped, especially the kitchen which is a joy to cook and eat in. Any issues we had were dealt with promptly. This is now our 5th year of coming to Shepherd’s Cottage and we are booked again for next year.

Lovely cottage

Stayed here with 4 generations of our family to celebrate my daughter's 50th birthday. We were warmly greeted by Stephen who showed us around and explained everything we needed to know. There was a little note from Sam together with a gorgeous cake, bar of chocolate and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge who could ask for more.The cottage was perfect for us and each bedroom having its own ensuite was a bonus for everyone getting organised in a morning. It is very well equipped and has everything you could possibly need. We spent most of our time in the conservatory on an evening and all members of the family used the games room with table tennis tournaments being played most evenings together with pool and darts leagues! We only watched tv one night to catch up on the last episode of Unforgotten! Lovely to spend quality family time together. The bbq hut is brilliant if a little dark and we all sat round chatting and laughing. This cottage is a beautiful comfortable base to return to after a day out and is central to all the local attractions. My granddaughter graduated from Northumbria university in July and so it seemed quite fitting that after driving a 6hour round trip for an interview for an Analytical Chemist that she should find out her that she'd been sucessful and we could all celebrate together (sorry about all the empties Stephen!) It will hold lots of special memories for all of us and we are already planning another stay. Thank you for everything

Perfect Base for Exploring This Area

The entire family had a brilliant week in Shepherds Cottage - the actual cottage provided us with everything we could need and the location was perfect for exploring the area. The games room was particularly appreciated as were all the 'goodies' left to make us feel welcome - thank you, Sam. A minor issue occurred and this was dealt with swiftly and efficiently so thank you again, Stephen, for sorting this. We visited various beaches, castles, gardens as well as enjoying crabbing off the harbour wall, crazy golf at Seahouses, the Grace Darling Museum at Bamburgh and causeway crossing to Holy Island, as well as a selection of good eateries suitable for all ages. Our last morning was a breakfast brunch at the Salt Water Café in Beadnell - excellent!

Spacious comfortable very well equipped property with something for all ages !!

From the frontage it is hard to imagine how spacious this 'cottage ' is !! It's huge !! 7 adults 3 small children and a dog spent a lovely weekend in January celebrating a belated family Christmas and my 60 th birthday !! The property is very well equipped and the attention to detail is amazing - little things like a pair of binoculars to enjoy the sea view a selection of board games even the four legged friends are catered for !! Every evening we lit the fire (my husband has now decided we need a log burner at home ) The BBQ hut (man cave ) was a hit with the gents and everyones competitive side came out in the games room !! Sam and Stephen are brilliant hosts PS thanks for the cake wine milk and dog treats !! We are thinking of coming back later in the year when it's a little warmer to take more advantage of the outdoor facilities and the surrounding Northumberland coastline !!

A fantastic place to stay.

We stayed at Shepherds cottage to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and couldn't have wished for anything better. From my initial enquiries to leaving on the last day, Samantha couldn't have been more helpful. As was her Mam who showed us around on the first night. The cottage has everything you need and more. It is extremely spacious with beautiful views. With the added benefit of the BBQ hut and games room, everybody was well catered for. I would highly recommend Shepherds cottage and we can't wait to return.
