Mold in the bathrooms. The front desk person marked us as a no show after he checked us in and our key stopped working. Which means someone else could’ve come into our room. This is my go to hotel in Charleston, but not anymore. The city is also just sad now.

Upon my arrival, I was initially thrilled to be staying at this hotel, as other options in the area appeared to be lacking in quality. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I entered my room to find it in a state of disarray. The carpet was held together with black tape, the couch was torn, and there was black mold present in the bathroom. After voicing my concerns to the front desk, I was moved to another room. However, when I requested a non-ADA room, I was informed that it was not possible due to booking through a third-party. Despite my knowledge of hotel software and the ability to change room types, the hotel was unable to accommodate my request. I reached out to the third-party booking site and discovered that the hotel had falsely claimed to be sold out when in reality they were still selling rooms online. This lack of transparency and failure to provide a room in proper condition was extremely disappointing. As a hotel professional myself, I understand the importance of maintaining high standards for guest accommodations. Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel has left me uncertain about returning in the future. As a professional in the hospitality industry with experience working at a 5-star hotel, I understand the importance of upholding high standards for guest accommodations. Regardless of any ratings or scores a hotel may have, maintaining the quality of rooms should always be a top priority. In my opinion.

Pool was unexpectedly undergoing work. We had booked the hotel as a treat for our kids thinking the pool would be available. The restaurant wasn’t open either due to construction, but they offered breakfast. All ok but would have appreciated a early heads up about these things given we booked the hotel for some of these perks. Our first room smelled badly of cigarette smoke so we asked for a different room. It was much better but all the living room lights flicker and make you dizzy. We turned them off to prevent headaches. The fire alarm went off at 7:45pm just as we had changed into pajamas. Luckily, it was a false alarm. Could smell pot smoking coming from a room on the third floor as we returned to our room. Despite all of this, it was a good night of sleep but for the price it was not quite hitting the mark.

Limited parking at the hotel, have to pay to park in a garage next to hotel. Free drink coupons for happy hour was nice surprise. Breakfast was good. All staff friendly and helpful. Safe in our room didnt work and shampoo and conditiiner were badically empty. Ordered Bud light from room service, transmitted to kitchen as Bud and thats what we got (bud wasnt even an option to order).

Beautiful area. Staff was great. The bathroom in my room wasn't so good. Light burnt out, could hardly see to take shower. The sink was stopped up and took forever to drain and the bathroom drain was broken. Plus the bathtub had terrible stains of rust in it

The hotel was very clean. Beautiful property. The breakfast is first rate! My husband had just gotten Invisalign braces when we stayed there. He had not gotten used to putting them back on after removing them for meals and he left them on the table in a napkin after we ate breakfast. When we went back about 10 minutes later, the table had been cleared but the breakfast staff working that morning went out of their way to help us find the braces and even volunteered to go through the trash for us. With the staff's assistance, we found them in a matter of minutes in the trash can, still wrapped in the napkin. I was so impressed with their above and beyond service. We have stayed at Embassy Suites in multiple cities and have always had an enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend Embassy Suites, Charleston, WV.

I booked the hotel for three main reasons 1) Hilton rewards 2) embassy Suites are usually fairly clean and nice and 3) there was a peloton in the gym. On arriving I was told I wouldn’t receive Hilton points because I booked through Expedia. The peloton in the gym didn’t work and the treadmill next to it wouldn’t change speed. The room smelled like smoke and wasn’t very clean.

Was told parking was free, when in fact it wasn’t. They charged my CC after they had said parking is free. There was hair in all of the beds. Half of the light bulbs did not work in our room. When I addressed the issue I was told maintenance couldn’t get to it until tomorrow. When I asked for bulbs they said I couldn’t do it. When I called the hotel to ask about the parking fee, after it was stated that it was free I was told that he was in the middle of a busy check in and he couldn’t help me.

Booked two (2) rooms at the same time. We checked in at 7:00-ish PM. Only one of two rooms were ready. By nearly 9PM the second room was still not ready. Thank goodness the one room had two beds. We all stayed in the one room which was beyond filthy. Dried Vomit on the sofa cushions, table and chairs with crusted food and drinks running down the sides and filthy seat cushions. Urine puddled on the base of the toilet, GIGANTIC booger and brown smear on back of bathroom door. Unknown brown and white splatters on nearly every wall. And all doors and door handles had smears and splatters all over them. Our room was on a “Premium Floor”. The hall had a spilled cookie/candy crumble and brown liquid in the corner when we checked in that was still there the following afternoon. The entire property is a nice building, but dirty. Tried to speak to the General Manager and Assistant General manager several times. They were always conveniently “in a meeting” or had just left the property. By, far the most unprofessional management I have ever encountered. Check-In staff was to only good thing about the experience. They were doing everything they could to try to remedy our situations with the dirty room AND unavailable booked room. This property obviously has a SERIOUS management problem and is a disgrace to the Hilton Brand. I don’t mind to pay a higher rate to stay at a higher rated property. Hence, booking here. This was not a 3 1/2 star property experience - This was 1 star or lower

I love the staff here and I usually love the rooms. But the room I was in tonight need some maintenance. It looks like they redone a lot of their rooms but maybe not all of them.
