«A stopover on our way to Scotland - 4 or 5 miles from the M6. A warm welcome in the bar (and the beers) after battling the traffic on the M6 was just what I needed! We shared the fish platter which was great and finished off with a tasty pud. A good night’s sleep and an excellent cooked breakfast completed our night’s stay. All the staff were most helpful and friendly and the pub has lots of character. We shall call in again when travelling north!»

«Stayed in a room ready for re-decorating due to water damage, hence peeling paint on outside wall. Good service, nice breakfast allthough my husband proved somewhat of a challenge to the staff but they still smiled :-) Great location right in the center if town, no notable night noice kept us awake despite open window towards the street. «This was a fantastic find for an overnight stay on our way to Glasgow, wish we could have stayed longer and explored the lake and surrounding areas. The bar and restaurant were very good and the couple who were managing the pub at the time of our stay were excellent hosts. There is plenty of parking and this very old pub has very modern rooms. Would defiantly recommend and stay again. »
