If it's wild coastlines you like, then travel to west Clare. The cliffs here are just waiting to be explored.
Low tide exposes large pools of clear ocean water with beautiful living sea plants and life. These are known as the pollock pools. Locals swim, snorkel & hang out by them. The water is very cold. Even in the summer.
The Cliffs of Moher get all the attention in west Clare, but further south there is a beautiful stretch of coastline with spectacular cliffs. If you want to experience the wild west of Ireland coastline in its raw state, and away from the tourist honey pot that is the Cliffs of Moher, then head south of Kilkee. They are so unspoilt that you will feel like you are the first one to discover them.

Mary was an excellent hostess! Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was absolutely delicious! Only downside was the distance from what we had planned so we cut our visit short by 1 day. Will definitely stay again if we have plans in the area.
