"**A characterful hotel that gets the details right**
We spent a night at Hospedería de los Parajes during a road trip through the Basque Country, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip.
The hotel sits right in the heart of Laguardia's walled medieval town, and the building and interiors reflect that setting beautifully. Our room was spacious and decorated with furniture and touches that felt true to the place — nothing generic or chain-hotel about it. Immaculately clean throughout.
Reception was warm and efficient, and the staff struck the right balance between being helpful and giving you space. The bar area was cosy and inviting, and the outdoor seating just outside the entrance made for a relaxed spot to unwind with a drink and soak up the atmosphere of the old town.
Dinner was well-prepared with clear local influences, and breakfast the next morning was ample and nicely laid out.
A highlight worth mentioning: the guided visit to the hotel's wine cellar beneath the stone vaults, which includes a complimentary glass of local Rioja. A small but memorable touch.
All in all, a hotel that delivers on atmosphere, comfort and service. Laguardia is well worth a detour, and Hospedería de los Parajes is the right place to stay when you get there."
