Family of four (2 adults and two kids aged 2 and 6)went to Bournemouth mid July 2011. We made reservation for a family room, and got a nice and spacious room for 4 people (no seaview). The hotel was good in most ways, with nice seaview from the lounge / balcony outside the lounge.
We missed a small fridge / minibar for keeping our water and additional breakfast supplies cool (the youngest ones were not too happy with the english breaksfast buffet...), and we would loved to have a balcony in connection with the room where the adults could to hang out after the children were put to bed. But we didn't ask for it so I don't really complain about that.
What I do think was less satisfactory: The pool was closed and we didn't get any information about this in advance. The hotel did arrange for us to use the pool at another hotel, so we did get a swim, but our lazy days got more complicated this way, and the pool was a weighty factor on choosing hotel.
Another thing: the hotel isn't very good to enter & exit with a puschair, and there are noe playgrounds nearby (as we could find).
The Menzies East Cliff Court Hotel is a nice hotel, but they don't make efforts to be a family hotel and therefor it might not the first choice for a those travelling with small children.
