There were a few things that made this the worst experience and others that made it the best experience. Firstly, having to pick up the key to the apartment in a different town makes no sense whatsoever. Luckily, we have a car, but driving on the curvy mountainside through roundabout after roundabout increased our risk tremendously.
Secondly, the pictures gave us the impression the apartment was well lit with many windows. Our first impression, after giggling the keys to get in, unsure if we were even at the right place, was very disappointing. There are no actual windows in any of the rooms, only air-shafts opening up to all the other apartments. This made it easy to hear and smell what the neighbours were doing!
Thirdly, the place was not equipped as a guest house. There was no toilet paper, no hand soap, no basic cooking ingredients, no extra blankets, sheets or towels, etc. When we asked to have toilet paper (enough for three women who were staying for 6 nights), we were told where to find the supermarket!
Finally, once we got over the extreme disappointed of unmet expectations, we were able to enjoy the living room and balcony, which overlook the marina and beach. The apartment is perfectly located (minus the 20-minute walk to the free parking lot) and allowed us to fully enjoy the little town of Blanes to the fullest.
One special, unexpected visit was to the Botanical Garden. A must-see in Blanes!
