Perfect!
We stayed a long weekend at Elena's March 9th - 13th.
The weather was pretty good and spring was in the air. Coming from Norway this was like jumping a month and a half forward in time to late April/May, so for us it was quite enjoyable :-)
The apartment was situated in a nice and relatively quiet part of the lower town, just a couple of minutes walk away from the gates to the upper town (the only thing making noise was the traffic driving on the brick-paved road outside. It's a very narrow road and there is not a lot of traffic, but we slept with the window closed, since we woke up the first night when cars passed by ). Elena marked out the places to see in Bergamo on the local map, and we used this to get around. From the apartment it takes about 15 minutes to walk into the upper town, a nice area with a great view and several streets with restaurants, shops and sights to see. Walking down-town took about 20 minutes to get to a lot of shopping streets. Both upper and lower town had lots of shopping options, but we found it to be more in lower town, and also more modern kinds of shops, like interior design, electronics etc. About 3 minutes walk from the apartment you will find a small grocery store, where you can buy some basic groceries, or you can walk 10-12 minutes for a huge supermarket. A lot of the stores do not take plastic, so 5 minutes down the road, past the small grocery store you will find an ATM where you can make withdrawals.
The apartment itself was very nice. It was clean, cozy and had a good standard. The shower was nice, with a nice, large shower head and the bathroom was spacious (and equipped with a hair-dryer). The kitchen had all the necessities and Elena also offered to use coffee etc that was there. The bedroom was quite large with more than enough space for storage and the bed was big and comfy.
We found Elena to be very friendly and accommodating, she met us at the agreed upon time on arrival at the apartment, she was helpful with fixing parking for our rental and she messaged us during our stay to make sure everything was ok.
All in all, a very good stay, we are very happy and would glady stay there another time. Thumbs up :-)
