"We arrived on a wednesday evening and had to check in with the Grand Hotel. The apartment was ok and clean when we arrived. The place was quiet with very little noise from neighbours etc. To our surprise there was no cleaning or taking out trash of the apartment even though we were there for a full week. In the hotel description it says bedlinen and towels can be changed upon request. However the description does not say that 1 change of towels cost 30 EUR! We paid that at checkout. That seems a ridiculously high price for clean towels, even though the Grand hotel is much more expensive and they dont want guests from the apartments on the hotel grounds and facilities - the apartments are not that cheap and it was very annoying to have to pay for the towels. Even in the cheapest hotels I have stayed in on my many travels beds have been changed, new towels changed every day without any extra fee. Checkout was in reception at downstairs gym. Went ok. There are no beaches, only Lido de Bellagio to go swimming and its not children friendly to get into the water so would not recommend this as a place to go for vacation with children expecting to bathe in Como. Bellagio is beautiful with many good restaurants, but with a lot of tourists, and ferries back from other towns like Varenna meant looooong queues in the sun to get onboard and go back to Bellagio. Recoomend to stay max 3 days - one week was a bit much."
