Exceptional log home situated on Lake Superior down a private road on the beautiful and historic Keweenaw Peninsula. Just 10 miles to Houghton and Hancock, it’s the perfect gateway to the natural wonders of historic “Copper Country”. For the adventurous, enjoy hiking, waterfalls, mountain biking or rent an ATV and experience the almost unlimited trails that the UP has to offer.

Back at the log cabin, enjoy a gourmet kitchen, well appointed bedrooms and a great room with 20 foot high ceilings and spectacular views of the lake. At day’s end, sit back and relax to a fire on the shores of the Great Lake watching spectacular sunsets fade into magnificent starscapes.

The host was very accommodating and provided good instructions and welcome information. The house was so beautiful! We hosted family and friends to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from Michigan Tech. Very well stocked home, neat and clean. Kitchen has everything needed. Check in was very easy. Everything was as pictured other than the back of the house to the beach area. There is a path through over grown shrubs and roots to the beach. (Being city people it made us uncomfortable to go to the beach after dark) Owner was easy to work with and we added an extra day. Lots to do in the area or just enjoy the house.

This home is amazing. It has everything you need for your comfortable stay. It is quite remote, somewhat off the grid - which is exactly what we were looking for. During our stay, the lake was angry, an awesome sight to see and feel. The next day it was calm, allowed for a wonderful sunset that turned into the rise of a full moon. Wow!!

This is our 4th time staying here, so yeah, that probably says a lot about what I think of both the hosts and the property. My family absolutely loves it here, and this trip did not disappoint. We love the beach and spent a great deal of time there. Got lucky on most days with super calm waters that we swam in by the fire.We don't get cell service up here, and the wifi doesn't reach the beach...and that's fine by us, it's nice getting the entire family off the devices and spending time together!

Beautiful and Peaceful Lake Superior Property

Property has EVERYTHING you could possibly need and more including, and best of all, a beautiful beach and sunsets! Location was great. Very close to Houghton and Hancock but also convenient for exploring other areas of the Keweenaw Peninsula including Copper Harbor and the Porcupine Mountains.

Excellent location with great communication!

We booked this place on a whim and were hoping for the best. We talked to the owner before we arrived and had great communication along the way. We were shocked when we arrived at the beautiful home and the beautiful beach. Well stocked with anything you might need and even the extras! We were surprised with a S’more making basket that we were excited to use during our nightly campfires on the beach. We really appreciated the chairs and a table on the beach. The sunsets were our favorite part! We appreciated being able to bring our dog who felt at home as soon as we arrived. The house was extremely clean and well maintained. We’ve already said we’d love to go back! We definitely hit the jackpot with this one!

Lake retreat

This was a lovely place to stay for our family vacation. The sunsets were amazing. The beach was relaxing with the fire pit and Adirondack chairs. The house itself was very clean and well-stocked for cooking our family meals. The king-size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. There was no air conditioning, but there were fans stored in the closets to use. The house does sit close to the road, but it wasn’t a problem. The traffic was minimal. It is quiet and peaceful.

BETTER THAN THE PICTURES

Michael is a great host. He made sure we had all the pertinent information about the property and area before we arrived. Our questions were answered promptly and fully. The property and beach were exactly as advertised. You could walk for miles on the beach in either direction. The few people we did run into turned out to be locals and were very friendly. In the house is a binder with full instructions about everything the house has to offer and instructions on how to use them. Plus the binder has info about the surrounding area and important phone numbers. Do yourself a favor and page through it the day you arrive. Phone and internet are a bit sketchy (as mentioned in his property description. WIFI is available.) at times but cable TV is fully functional with a huge selection to choose from.To sum it up we had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend it.

Perfect for family time

This home is truly exceptional! We had a fantastic stay for MTU graduation weekend. Plenty of room for 4 young adults, parents and grandma. We enjoyed the big kitchen, the cozy fireplace, the comfy beds and especially the view. Bonfires on the beach, sunsets and stargazing made this a 5 star experience!

Keweenaw Getaway

The four of us enjoyed a completely relaxing visit. The home was perfectly clean. The furniture was very comfortable, and we had lots of room to relax. The big kitchen was easy for cooking. The details in the home were just as attractive as in the pictures. The beach is amazing - stretching far in both directions, and it was an easy walk straight out from the house.

Love This House!

This was our second stay and we are already looking at our calendars for this coming fall and next winter for return trip! Home is set up perfectly for privacy but also for lounging together by fireplace, playing games in the kitchen/dining area, cooking and baking together! The cleaning crew had a few short hours to turn over the whole house between guests and they did a fantastic job! Can't wait to return!
