«We arrived a little early for check-in and were warmly welcomed and told our room was ready for us. The room is what you'd expect from a motel in a small town, but comfortable and very clean. Ticked all of the boxes with a comfy bed, decent bathroom, coffee machine, TV with streaming channels, and ample storage. The chairs and table in the room and outside on the patio were a welcome addition as were the little chocolates left on the bed. Would be very comfortable for an extended stay.»

«My girlfriend and I, 19 years old from Norway in Australia on a working holiday, had to evacuate from Cairns during cyclone Jasper, and ended up in Thornton, and at this motel. WHAT a happiness! These have to be the most hospitable hosts we have ever met :) The couple who run this are simply the most gracious people, who go out of their way to help. «If you love nature, you will love The Canopy! We spotted a platypus on the first day and a cassowary on our way out! The birds are beautiful and the turtles plentiful. The staff were kind and helpful. They even built a fire for us on a cool day. Loved every minute of our time there. »

«Wonderful place to retreat for a few days with beautiful walks on the property through tropical forest. If you like nature and seclusion this is the place for you. The rooms are well maintained, clean and comfortable with all the amenaties needed for self catering. There is however, no Wifi access in the room and telephone coverage is poor; so I would not recomend this for someone who needs to stay connected. Otherwise, no complaints and an enjoyable stay.»

«We stayed at a Canopy treehouse that had a great view of the farmland below. The fireplace is handy on cold nights and sunrise was picturesque from the balcony. Breakfast provisions were ample and we enjoyed our beef and reef dinner package too. Overall it was an excellent stay»

«A really lovely property with absolutely delightful hosts. We had a 2 bedroom townhouse near the pool. Parking was downstairs and really only suited a small car (ours poked out the front). Well stocked kitchen, lots of accessories and wine glasses! Would be nice to have a few larger drinking glasses available. Main bedroom had lovely view of the Lake. Other bedroom overlooked the pool, unfortunately the mattress was like concrete, time for an upgrade perhaps. Screens throughout meant lovely ...
