Nice stay, great rooftop pool w/view of Acropolis
We had a great stay at The Stanley. The rooftop was very nice with a view of the Acropilos, but it was crowded at times, so the last day there was no space for us. The room was a bit boring maybe, but the service when asking for anything was very good. We both thought the area surrounding the hotel was nice with several nice local restaurants, shops and bakeries, and don’t see what some of the other reviews are complaining about. If you want a place that covers up poverty and has no local people or history around, you should go to a resort instead of a big city. There are both nice restaurants and a metro nearby, and Uber works fine so there’s no problem to get around from this hotel.

Not as good as expected
Hotel didnt live up to expectations. Rooms look really nice on pictures but they are small and didnt have a good atmosphere. Breakfast was not good at all. Pool area is way smaller than it looks on photos. Also the hotel is located in a rather shady and dirty area of the city. On the positive aspect..friendly staff and easy to get around. Very close to the metro. Would not pick this hotel again.

Flott opphold i travle Athens
Hotellet hadde bra lokalisasjon, veldig bra standard og rooftop´en var fantastisk! Fikk tidlig innsjekk, og god renhold av hotellrommet. Skulle ønske utsikten var finere da det var rett inn i en bakgård, men vi var der for kun 3 dager så det plaget oss ikke heller. Anbefaler hotellet på det sterkeste! :) Fikk valuta for pengene.

Great rooftop
The main best thing about the hotel was the rooftop. The room (superior- acropolis view) was spacious, clean and with the basics you’d need. Desk, balcony, small fridge, small table, hairdryer etc. A bit noisy with the big roundabout outside, but didn’t bother us much, but if you are sensitive to noise it will probably. The main entrance is right where you exit the Metro (Metaxourgeio). Good breakfast too

Pictures of the rooms, particularly regarding the size of the bathrooms, are rather misleading. Our bathroom was significantly smaller than the one pictured on the website. Bed sheets were not changed after the third evening/day, as per the hotel information. Service in the hotel’s restaurant is rather slow, we had to wait a while after receiving food before the drinks arrived. The same goes for the time between asking for the bill before we were able to pay, on occasion we had to walk to the cashier desk to pay there as no one came back to the table to take payment. The streets surrounding the hotel have a significant problem with drug addicts and homelessness. Although this is not the hotel’s fault, it may feel unsafe for those traveling alone or as a young family. The hotel looks well looked after and is very clean. Breakfast has a good variety of food, but could have more fresh fruits. The pool area is good.

With regards to your remarks about the bathroom photos, we would like to inform you that The Stanley has approximately 380 rooms, that vary in dimensions and in room categories. For each room category guest may find representative photos and all needed information online, helpful enough so as to decide and proceed with booking. We would have greatly appreciated you voicing out your discontent about the room while still at the property, in order to allocate you into a different room. Furthermore, addressing the room refreshing, we would like to assure you that all linens are changed every 3 days. Usually, the main reason Housekeepers will not enter a room is in case there is a DND (“Do Not Disturb”) card at the door. As per regulation, staff is not allowed to access the room, always respecting the privacy of our guests, however they always return later in the day to check for the sign and clean if it has been removed. In any case, we would have immediately sent a housekeeper to change the bedsheets on the spot, should we have been notified about this matter. Concerning your comment about the slow service at the rooftop area, we would like to inform you that we always take our guests' remarks very seriously and have already communicated your observations to the respective Department Manager, in order to proceed with all necessary action. Moreover, we are very glad to know that you were pleased with the cleanliness, the abundant breakfast buffet and the rooftop pool area with stunning views of the Acropolis. Absolutely the best rooftop pool! The personnel at the hotel was great. From the doorman, to receptionist, the restaurant staff- all were great. The area outside the hotel was not very nice. We took a taxi everywhere.

Favoritt hotell i Athen

Bra opphold. God service og hjelpende ansatte. Bra rom, vi var 3 stk. på sikkert et tomannsrom, dermed følte vi det var litt lite plass.. Men til to personer veldig bra. Renhold bra, eneste jeg tenkte på var at det ikke ble støvsuget/tørket støv på de 6/7 dagene vi var der, dermed litt ruskete på gulvet etter et par dager, men ellers bra. God frokost, stort utvalg. Jeg så ikke etter, men en av oss som reiste savnet yoghurt(?), husker ikke helt. Men du finner noe du kan spise til frokost! Ut i fra bildene på bestillingen tenke vi at det ikke kunne være så bra som det så ut, men vi ble veldig fornøyde med hotellet da vi kom frem, det var slik som det så ut som på bildene! Litt ut i oppholdet sluttet dørkortet vårt å fungere, det fikset de ansatte lett og fint. Vi spurte kvelden før om det fantes mulighet for å utsette utsjekk noen timer, og det var ikke noe problem. Han vi snakket med forklarte fint at hotellet var fullbooket, men han var veldig hjelpelig og fikset senere utsjekk for oss. Flyet vårt hjem gikk sent på kvelden, men vi fikk beholde bagasjen på hotellet etter utsjekk, og da vi kom tilbake for å hente fikset de taxi slik at vi kom oss til flyplassen. Vi var tre venner som reiste og vi var veldig fornøyde med oppholdet!

Basic hotel
The hotel looks better on pictures. Its quite a basic hotel for basic needs. Clean. Okay sized room, bathroom has what is needed, but shower curtain, small with a sliding door to not use space they dont have. The service from the front desk was bare minimum, but the rooftop bar was much better. Breakfast was bland and uninviting. Location not so pretty, but a 20min walk to nicer areas. Completely okay stay, but not what we hoped for.

Great roof terrace but boring rooms
Great roof terrace with a good bar and restaurant, pool and cool furniture/design. It is the main reason for staying there! Room was boring and with no furniture on terrace. Dull and small bathroom. Breakfast was just ok, nothing special. Cleaning good. Location not so good if you want to take walks, in a dodgy area. Metro close by instead of walking anywhere.

Great hotel. Good quality rooms and very nice rooftop pool and view. The building lost power on our 2nd day of stay so we had no AC and power for a bit.

Staff and property were excellent. Very clean and the rooftop area is beautiful. Hotel is right at the Metro and bus stops. Extremely convenient. I would definitely stay again.
