«We really felt we experienced the true Bedouin lifestyle, spending a couple of nights at the camp. The guys here are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable with the best hospitality of anywhere we stayed on Jordan. This really was the highlight of our trip! Thanks to Ahmed, he runs a great facility and makes sure you leave having fully had a glimpse into the Bedouin life. Also thanks to Salah, our Jeep guide. He is so fun to be around I just wish we had longer with him! »

«We were picked in an agreed time by Awdeh. We were then taken from Wadi Rum guest house by Hasim who was excellent driver. He took us out to all the prime viewing points in the Wadi Rum gor whole day trip. This included generous portions of traditional lunch. The camp is located at a prime spot from where sunset was amazing. The night stay in the camp was amazing. The team at the camp was very nice and looked after us very well. «This is one of the best camps I've been into at Wadi Rum; The location is amazing inside the the protected area; While all camps are claiming the same but this is not the case; This camp is not surrounded or close the main road; it is inside the desert where you need to drive for 8Km to reach it; so it is calm and quite; the staff are greate and cooperative; the food and the service is very good. You won't beleive the desert can be beautiful till you see this . »

«Desert Bird Camp is one of 35 camps in Wadi Rum. The owner can be easily contacted via WhatsApp and he replies very promptly. I did the 5 hour 4x4 tour offered by the camp. It was undoubtedly the highlight of our Jordan trip. All meals were of high quality and delicious. In the evening we all sat around the camp fire to chat with the local guides and cook. Fantastic stay but do not respect gold status
"The stay was fantastic. Great people, great facilities and perfect location. It is probably a bit harsh of me to only give 4 stars, but it annoys me so much that they don’t respect the Expedia gold service of free upgrade if available. Upgrade of rooms was obviously available because they tried to sell it to me. We also could have an earlier check in if we paid for the upgrade and early check in is also supposed to be included in the Expedia/hotels.com gold privileges. The lack of upgrades is however in general a non-existing and false advertising of the Expedia/hotels.com so perhaps it is just as much a blame on Expedia, but Kempinski takes it to a new level by trying to sell you the upgrade you are supposed to have included (the same happens in the Kempinski hotel by the Dead Sea). Except from this little annoyance a great stay with fantastic staff."
