My overall stay at the hotel was pleasant, and I was satisfied with the room and amenities. Unfortunately, my experience at checkout did not reflect the same level of service.
When I approached the front desk, the staff member was on a phone call, so I waited patiently. While I was waiting, another guest approached and was immediately assisted. The staff member placed the call on hold and proceeded to check out her multiple rooms without acknowledging my presence or noting that I had been waiting first. After assisting her, he resumed his phone call and still did not acknowledge me.
Once he finished, he simply stated, “I can help you,” without any greeting or apology for the delay. I expressed that I found the situation discourteous, but there was little effort to address my concern. Additionally, when my mother mentioned that we had enjoyed our stay and liked the room, his response—“That’s nice that you liked the room”—came across as dismissive and unprofessional.
While the accommodations themselves were enjoyable, this interaction at checkout left a negative final impression. I hope the hotel can improve front desk attentiveness and customer service to ensure all guests feel acknowledged and respected.
